Charter The EHR Integration workgroup develops emerge II consensus and concepts for EMR integration of genomic information and clinical decision support (CDS) delivery. The workgroup delineates common and distinct approaches and challenges for EMR integration, shares best practices, addresses challenges and approaches for using whole genome/exome sequenceassociated information, establishes a dialog with EMR vendors, and supports the use and evaluation of CDS tools.
Updates External collaborations Publications, presentations, abstracts Infobutton Project (Scientific Presentation) CDS Repository
External Collaborations AMIA Genomics and Translational Bioinformatics Working Group Clinical Decision Support Consortium (hiatus) ONC S&I Health edecisions HL7 Clinical Genomics Workgroup IOM Roundtable on Translating Genomic-Based Research for Health Global Genomic Medicine Collaborative (G2MC) Global Alliance for Genomic Health (GA4GH) Liaisons with CSER, ClinGen, IGNITE Precision Medicine Initiative (Josh Denny) Clinical Pharmacogenomic Implementation Consortium Informatics Workgroup and PGRN PGx Guideline Repository IOM DIGITizE: Displaying and Integrating Genetic Information Through the EHR
PGRN PGx Guideline Repository Designed to archive structured (computable) guideline artifacts Structured metadata Based on the CDSC Knowledge Framework Level 1 documents linked to Level 2 & 3 artifacts Content CPIC Guidelines (Level 1, Level 2) PGRN Translational PGx Project (Level 2) ONC Standards & Interoperability Framework: Health edecisions (HeD) schema (Level 3) Initial release scheduled for July 2015 Potential synergy with emerge CDS KB Strong preference to collaborate
Clinical PGx Implementation Consortium (CPIC) Informatics Working Group Goal: To support the adoption of the CPIC guidelines by identifying, and resolving where possible, potential technical barriers to the implementation of the guidelines within a clinical electronic environment. Create comprehensive translation tables from genotype to phenotype to clinical recommendation for CPIC guidelines Define structure and process to efficiently develop and maintain in the most useful format(s) Term Standardization for Clinical PGx Test Results Delphi survey process Inclusion in LOINC
IOM DIGITizE Working on two end to end pharmacogeomics implementation use cases Abacavir and HLA-B*57:01 Azathioprine and TPMT Large and diverse group including ONC, vendors (both EHR and LIS), providers, informaticists etc. Many emerge sites involved Hope to have fully implemented CDS for these two use cases by the end of the year Identifying many issues (most of which have been encountered in emerge) If successful could dramatically lower barriers to implementation Findings from emerge have been central to this work
