5 How SNiPER Works SNiPER is next generation chemistry, a new era of disinfection quality. Due to its proprietary formulation, SNiPER has harnessed the power, efficacy and versatility of chlorine dioxide in a completely safe and shelf stable formulation. SNiPER s proprietary action is initiated in an on demand basis which is precipitated by contact with a microorganism or volatile organic compound (VOC) with a total potential of 2,000 ppm. by volume. When this interaction takes place, SNiPER delivers controlled micro-bursts of chlorine dioxide directly to its target resulting in the physical destruction of the target organism or molecule. Once this result is affected, SNiPER immediately ceases its reactive process, retaining the remaining potential to address future threats. This proprietary function of the SNiPER technology guarantees that no free chlorine dioxide will be released that could pose a health risk or physical hazard. SNiPER kills its target by mechanical action which is to say it physically disassembles vital structural components of the organism at the molecular level. This is important for two main reasons, first no organism can reproduce or continue to function after being rendered into component parts and second unlike traditional disinfectants which are metabolic toxins, no organism can develop an immunity response or any other evolved or acquired defense against the action of SNiPER. 6 How SNiPER Works SNiPER actively mitigates VOCs. VOCs or volatile organic compounds come in many forms familiar to us all. 9 Green Cleaning Background SNiPER Treatment For Waste and Potable Water. (Potable water shall be defined as any clean water not intended for human consumption.) SNiPER AND THE ENVIRONMENT The special properties of the SNiPER formulation, (which contains stabilized chlorine dioxide), make it a product of choice for meeting the challenges of today s environmentally concerned world. The majority of all applications using chlorine dioxide formulations to treat waste or sewage water involve the control of micro-organisms, and / or the odors that they produce. 12 Green Cleaning SNiPER-The Ideal Biocide THE CHLORINE DIOXIDE SOLUTION History Chlorine dioxide, a water-soluble gas, is an extremely effective and powerful biocide that has been used for many years, exhibiting rapid kill over a wide range of organisms. It does not form chlorinated molecules in the presence of organics and is efficacious over a wide ph range. Although chlorine and chlorine dioxide share the word chlorine in their names, their chemistries are very different. Unlike chlorine, chlorine dioxide does not chlorinate. It works through oxidation and penetrates bacteria cell walls and reacts with vital amino acids in the cytoplasm of the cell to kill the organism. Traditionally, chlorine dioxide has to be produced and used at the same location because the compound is unstable and in large quantities cannot be stored or transported. Instead, on-site chemical or electro-chemical generation is required. Most often this is accomplished by reacting hazardous pre cursers, such as concentrated sodium chlorite solutions with chlorine gas and/or hydrochloric acid, to generate chlorine dioxide.
