While they are saving lives, sometimes they allow old people or mortally ill to die, or indeed it occurs that their death is hurried by them. MILÁN soon finds out that there is a business side to the illegal euthanasy. In order to finance his fiancée s rescue from the war MILÁN needs money, so he makes a deal with his companions. Liza, a 30-year-old nurse, goes in search of love, but her ill-fated admirers all die on their first date. Liza has taken care of Marta, widow of the former Japanese ambassador, for the last 12 years. It s her birthday, and so Liza goes to a Mekk Burger s to find romance. While she s away, Marta gets killed by Liza s imaginary friend, Tomy Tani, the ghost of a Japanese pop singer from the 1950s. Jealous relatives report Liza to the police for murdering Marta to inherit her apartment. Sergeant Zoltan is put on the case. The policeman rents a room from Liza so he can keep a closer eye on his suspect. Zoltan secretly repairs a stack of faulty fittings, very nearly gets killed in the process, and falls slowly in love with Liza. Liza gains confidence and begins to look better when she takes tips from a women s magazine, but all her dating efforts end in fatal accidents orchestrated by Tomy Tani. Liza is convinced that she has become a fox-fairy, a deadly demon from Japanese folklore. The battle for Liza s life begins between the mysterious pop singer and Sergeant Zoltan. It only takes a couple of glasses of wine and they fall into each other s arms. No big deal, it could happen to anyone. But there s one slight problem Bögöcs, the class bad boy, has recorded the whole unfortunate incident on his mobile phone. The hideous Bögöcs now thinks he has what he needs to achieve his teenage dream of scoring with Tímea Hajnal. He threatens to show the video to Dani s fiancée if Dani doesn t fix it for him to get the girl. The pressure soon has an impact on Dani s relationship with his bride-to-be, who swiftly transforms into something of a she-devil. The wedding day s approaching, and Dani has to act... However, her daughter Aglaya gets terribly worried that her mother will fall to death, and this fear becomes an everyday burden for her to bear. Yet one day following the family tradition she herself becomes The Woman with Hair of Steel. The story is about this family s enforced interdependence, their eventual break-up and the joy and curse of belonging together all seen from the viewpoint of the young Aglaya. We are in a small country town where strange things happen but the adults do not take any notice of it. More and more kids disappear into unknown, only to appear later, seemingly unharmed. But they are somewhat different, changed, transformed. Watson, the over-energetic geek-type has started his own investigation before but did not get very far. Stepping into the investigation immediately brings creepy results: a witness confesses to have seen a monster kidnapping one of the victims, and on one of the school photos someone has marked the next victim to go. They bump into the enigmatic, sassy Ira Adler, whose father was investigating similar disappearances years ago, until he himself vanished, only leaving a mysterious circus ticket behind: Circus Infractus Somnius, the Circus of Broken Dreams. The investigation about the circus leads to other secrets and there is no way to stop anymore. Jung (30) is a super-ambitious cultural NS officer living undercover as a private teacher. Jung s apartment acts as a safe house where he meets agents and informants on a regular basis. Jung's task is to gather information and forward it to his superiors. Markó (50) is Jung s immediate superior, and also his only friend. Now, Markó, a war hero and a legend amongst the officers, is ordered to monitor Jung s apartment and activities for a day to test his friend s loyalty to the new regime. What sets out as routine surveillance takes a wild turn when Markó uncovers disturbing secrets in Jung s life; secrets that can easily destroy the careers of both men. It takes place in Budapest's notorious District Eight, the local Harlem, home to a relatively large gypsy and immigrant population and a center of East European prostitution, populated by the urban, post-socialist, ghetto stereotypes: a white-trash pimp and the group of prostitutes he manages; an accented Chinese restaurant-owner and his teenage son, who is obsessed with martial arts; an alcoholic but charming, Jewish plastic surgeon and his geeky son; members of the Ukrainian mafia; corrupt and dumb policemen; and, most prominently, members of an extended gypsy family. The father is now dead and the son has to work out what s keeping the annoying ghost of his father in the earthly dimension. He takes advice from a professional medium and starts to sew up a series of loose ends to set the ghost free. Such an unusual grieving process finally affects the life of the whole family. When a Japanese crime syndicate hires him to aquire a Hungarian invention the world s first floppy disc Tibi puts his band of retarded thugs back together and the action starts. As expected, Tibi completely screws up the job and becomes the target of Japanese Assassins, a very angry Gypsie family and the entire Slovakian Army. Gags and action and no political correctness at all. The Hungarian heat is on

9 CAR PARK 2014 Budget BENCE MIKLAUZIC FERENC LENGYEL, TIBOR SZERVÉT IVÁN ANGELUSZ, PÉTER REICH 100 MIN DRAMA 1.01M EURO The story takes place on an empty plot of land surrounded by apartment buildings in the very heart of Budapest. This is the car park where LEGIONNAIRE is king. For him, this small square of land is the centre of the world; and this is where a family of blackbirds live, and he has become very fond of them. But a dark shadow spreads across Legionnaire s perfect little world when a ginger cat appears on the scene and sets its feline sights on one of the adult blackbirds. And then, as if none of this were bad enough, IMRE pulls up in his 1968 Ford Mustang. Anyone can park wherever they like, except for one particular spot: an area sheltered by a roof where Legionnaire has buried a little blackbird. But Imre is determined to secure this parking space at any cost. Legionnaire has a double battle on his hands: with the ginger cat that gradually exterminates the blackbird family, and with Imre who is not used to getting no for an answer. We soon see that their war is no longer about where a man can park his car, but rather a desperate struggle between two very lonely figures who are forced to face the lie they are living and the scars they carry from their past, as they learn to abandon the very things they once thought constituted the meaning of their lives. MIRAGE 2014 Budget SZABOLCS HAJDU ISAACH DE BANKOLÉ, RAZVAN VASILESCU, ORSOLYA TÖRÖK-ILLYÉS ANDREA TASCHLER, GÁBOR KOVÁCS 110 MIN DRAMA 1.90M EURO Francis Boyo is an African footballer in the twilight of a long career, who now finds himself playing in a small town in Romania. They lose a game, and his teammates suspect him of throwing the match for money. One thing leads to another and he decides it might be a good idea to go into hiding for a short while. Francis calls in a favour from an underworld acquaintance called Albert, who arranges for him to stay deep in the remote Hungarian countryside with a Romanian stockman by the name of Cisco. It doesn t take Francis long to realise that he is trapped in what amounts to a modern-day slave camp, where men and women are held captive and forced to do hard manual work. The days go by and Francis begins to feel a strong attraction to Cisco s girlfriend, Anna. Cisco is paranoid and protective by nature, and he is quick to spot the animal magnetism between the black footballer and his girlfriend. Francis manages to make his escape but gets desperately lost in the unfamiliar landscape. He is near death when Cisco s men find him and take him back to the farm, where Anna helps Francis recover and their relationship evolves. Cisco s increasing jealousy makes him both cruel and unpredictable. Francis tries to make a break for a second time in the hope that he won t lose his way again

Four generations of fools, with Mother in the focus, who has lived 94 years and moved 27 times in her life. Moving was her only means of dealing with trouble, danger or conflicts. In fact, it was History that chased her on, all over the country and throughout the horrible century. She was a born non-conformist. With incredible luck, she found Father, who had as much courage to live as she had. The world twisted and turned around them, faces swirling, disappearing and reappearing, while they kept moving on, shoulder to shoulder, happily oblivious to it all. They were armed against the world: their sense of humour, integrity and faith in each other helped them pulling through. In short, they were free people in a country that was anything but free. At the demented age of 94, Mother tells the story to her daughter: a playful, heartwarming and occasionally heartbreaking span of hundred years. NO MAN S ISLAND 2014 Budget FERENC TÖRÖK JULI JAKAB, ESZTER BÁNFALVI, TAMÁS MOHAI PÁL SÁNDOR 100 MIN DRAMA 1.15M EURO Vera is a cab driver who has been saving up for years to buy a house and settle on No Man s Island in the Pacific and eventually escape from the world in which she lives. Zoli has what it takes to become a professional basketball player, but beats a cowardly retreat from his own talent. These two youngsters, each on the run in their own way, are then joined by Mia, the runaway bride. Their three lives clash and intermingle as they journey towards an nexpected solution. The film is a modern fairy tale about young people in search of true happiness who, through Mia s ethereal purity, come to love themselves and find a way to realise their dreams

11 PAW 2014 Budget RÓBERT PEJÓ ZSOLT TRILL, TAMÁS KERESZTES, LÁSZLÓ SZACSVAY LÁSZLÓ KÁNTOR 100 MIN DRAMA 1.27M EURO Zoltán Fehér works as an electrician on the trams, and he and his wife, Eszter, are just about to have their first child. Then an old friend of Zoltán s dies unexpectedly and he suddenly finds himself looking after a young German Shepherd puppy called PAW. Zoltán goes on to spend every second of the little free time he has with Paw, and soon trains him to become an excellent search and rescue dog. Now happy to put Paw to work, Zoltán founds the Hercules Special Rescue Team and they begin to respond to calls from all over the country. Things get tough for Zoltán as he battles to pursue his new passion and adapt to family life as a father. He is fired from his old job for missing work after rescuing people and very nearly losing his own life in the process. It s all a little too much for Zoltán, who eventually decides that it s time to give up, but before he does, he wants Paw to take an official canine qualification as a registered search and rescue dog. Paw passes the exam and the team are soon reunited, and a call comes in from Romania. The city of Brasov has been struck by a massive earthquake, leaving hundreds of homes in ruins. 82 hours have passed and the Hercules Team refuse to leave the rubble long after the rest have given up the search for survivors. And then, Paw finds a four-year-old girl under the debris of a collapsed building SWING 2014 Budget CSABA FAZEKAS MARI TÖRÔCSIK, ESZTER CSÁKÁNYI, ESZTER ÓNODI ISTVÁN BODZSÁR 110 MIN COMEDY / MUSIC 1.44M EURO SWING is the story of three generations of women, an all-girl singing group, bound together by a passion for music and a need for quick cash. But the day that he gets to taste real honey is the day that his life changes forever. He abandons his old life, sets up home in a remote forest and starts working with bees in a real and meaningful way. The harmful effects of a newly constructed mobile phone tower drive his bees away and so N establishes an environmentalist commune and starts a long legal fight against pollution to save his bees. But then he falls in love with L, the daughter of the director of the mobile phone company. The legal challenge fails, so N leaves his farm and L joins him. Angry and alone, N and L start attacking everything that might endanger their bees: petrol stations, factories, refineries. They hack the media, murder bankers and blow up shopping centres. N and L soon achieve a curious fame and they even have a film made about their escapades, called Zero. The couple are eventually forced to realise that, no matter what they do, they are destined to become part of the establishment. The company is brought together by the sister of the man, whom she has not seen for six years, to get the family together. The show breaks loose, and turns into a genuine drama. The film concentrates on the drama of the family, which has multiple levels, but one common cause. A teenage girl is hiding a criminal inside her bedroom closet. At first they have an innocent relationship, but slowly the man becomes bored with her girly ways, and begins to spy on her lonely mother. One day, after a jealous fight with the girl, the man leaves the closet and makes his way into the mother s life. The movie is the story of three women who taking advantage of a promising day, set sail for a pleasant cruise from a yacht club at Lake Balaton. Two of them are siblings, the third one is the friend of the younger sister, and not incidentally their future mother-in-law. Boroka grows up in an orphanage. She celebrates her 18th birthday in a luxury hotel with her boyfriend. Life in paradise seems to come to a sour end when they run out of cash. Boroka, with no money and no options moves in with her boyfriend, who is keen to supplement his income by selling her body to calling clients. A star broker, Péter Vas, has one day and one night to recoup an enormous sum missing from his biggest client s account. It might be just enough time, as the markets in the Far East open before the sun comes up in Europe. Can he win this high-stake gamble and resolve his potentially catastrophic personal issues over the course of 24 hours? 26 27
