3 Tuscarawas County, Ohio Summary Tuscarawas county had a population of 90,914 in 2000, and is expected to decrease to 86,800 by From 9899, net migration numbers revealed that more people moved out of the county than moved in. In 1999, the personal income per capita reached $21,708, while the state of Ohio averaged $27, poverty numbers show an overall rate of 10.2% for the county and 11% across Ohio for all persons. In 1999 more persons were employed in the Manufacturing industry, the largest payroll came from the Manufacturing sector, and the Retail trade industry had the largest number of establishments.* In 1998 Tuscarawas county had a net increase in the number of businesses started. In 1997 crop cash receipts totaled $12,609,000, while livestock cash receipts totaled $42,827,000. In 1997 an average of 154 acres per farm combined for 920 farms across a total of 141,358 acres in farm use. In 1997 corn generated the largest amount of crop cash receipts while dairy produced the largest amount of livestock cash receipts.
