1 The Vocational Education System in Denmark ERASMUS+ KA2 Strategic Partnership for the Dual System 2nd meeting 14th December 16th April 2015
2 Definition All Vocational Education and Training (VET) takes place in an apprenticeship at a "master craftsman" at a company where student is working as an apprentice or trainee. During the training in the company there is periods of schooling of various types and duration at the so-called vocational schools - i.e. technical schools, trade schools, combining schools, agricultural schools and the like. The Vocational Education and Training finishes with an apprenticeship test /final exam - and if the apprentice pass the test, he/she will given a certificate of completed apprenticeship.
3 Organization of the VET education background for the Danish vocational educational system The first Danish Industrial and Artisan school which was purpose built (Copenhagen 1881)
4 Organization of the VET education background for the Danish vocational educational system The Massmannske Sunday Schools (1800) Prince Frederik Ferdinand Drawing School in Århus (1829) (also a Sunday School) Technical Institute (1843) (Still Sunday Schools but also evening school and day school in technical drawing) The Technical Society's School (1881)(Copenhagen Technical School) (evening school, day school and combined classes) New financial scheme: State and municipal financing in addition to the contribution from master craftsmen and apprentices
5 Organization of the VET education background for the Danish vocational educational system The current VET model was established in 1991, all the Vocational Basic Education (EFG) and Master craftsman and Apprenticeships Education was combined in to the common Vocational Education and Training (EUD) The education was restructured but it still carries with it all the way back to the 19 th century

16 Organization of the construction education key actors Students council The student council is the students' representative to the institution The student council carries through cooperation with the board, the manager and other staff groups students' common educational, professional, cultural, personal and financial interests of the institution The student council has the right to make recommendations There appoint two members to the institution's board of directors, one of whom vote. The voting student must be of age The student council appoint representatives to all committees, etc., by the institution established to address issues of importance to students in general The student council may appoint educational environment representatives
