General Requirements for BA/BSc Psychology 101 and 102 or 100S(100S is no longer offered) Psychology [278 and 279] Note: Students who have received credit for a statistics course from another university or from UPEI, i.e. Psychology 271, Mathematics 221, Mathematics 231, Education 481, and Sociology 332, will receive credit for this statistics course as an elective but will still be required to complete 278 and 279. Accepted as Psychology major: has passed the four core courses with an average of at least 70% with no mark below 60%. 5 Must complete a second English course (for students new in September, 2008, a Writing Intensive Course) Does not have more than 16 introductory-level courses (Note: Psychology 100S(no longer offered) and University 100 each count as two courses) Must pass at least 10 psychology courses with grades of at least 60% Must complete half of courses required for degree at UPEI (exceptions approved by Dean only) In the last 20 courses, students can receive credit from outside UPEI for no more than 4 courses (exceptions approved by Dean only) To graduate with BA or BSc, must have credit for 40 courses (University 100, Psychology 100, and Arts 400 each is equivalent to two courses) To graduate with Honours in Psychology, must have credit for 42 courses (Psychology 480 and 490 each is equivalent to two courses) II. Requirements for BSc Biology 131 and 132 (previously 111 and 112) Math 112 or [Math 151 and 152] Chemistry 111 and 112 or [Physics 111 and 112 OR 121 and 122] Two courses which have lab components at the 200-level or above in one of Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Applied Human Science.
