1 Thank you for your interest in our Truck Driving Program. Our six week program allows students to accumulate 16 hours of college credit in preparation for the Commercial Driving License (CDL) examination for operation vehicles in interstate commerce. We are located in Ft. Scott, KS. We are authorized licensing examiners for the state of KS, and administer the driving portion of the CDL exam at the school. We are accredited through the National Association of Publicly Funded Truck Driving Schools. During the six week period, students accumulate 240 hours of classroom and driving time. Emphasis is on federal motor carrier regulations, driver s daily log, mileage and defensive driving. We can prepare you for the written exam or you may take the written exam prior to attending the program. Students spend 151 hours in the driving segment of the training. This time includes the driving range and backing range. FSCC provides Commercial Driving instruction at: Fort Scott Community College 2108 S. Horton Ft. Scott, KS PLACEMENT We are proud of the Fort Scott Community College Truck Driving Program, and are pleased that we have a 96% employment rate with employers who hire our students because of the quality of training they receive at our school. Program instructors and office personnel will assist students and alumni in finding full-time employment. Every effort is made to secure jobs for which applicants are qualified and to give employers accurate information. At the end of the course, individuals who successfully complete the course will be presented a school certificate of completion.

In the Kansas City, MO area check with Full Employment Council (FEC). In other parts of MO check with nearest MO Career Center. Dislocated Worker: If your job has moved and you can no longer work there, you may be eligible for funding under the Dislocated Workers Program. Check with the nearest state employment office. Church Groups: If you are a member of a church, check with them to see if they have a program to fund education or job training. You could borrow the money from a bank, credit union, friend or relative and have the trucking company send the reimbursement directly to them. Partial payment: You can pay ½ the amount due on the first day of class and pay the remainder at the start of the third week of a 6 week program. If you are in a 12 week program you pay the remainder at the start of the 4 th week.
