The focus area City, Environment and their Engineering is a pole of international scope. Universities (UPEC & UPEMLV), schools of architecture, grandes écoles like École des Ponts ParisTech or ESIEE Paris and research institutes (IFSTTAR, CSTB, IGN etc.) gather their resources to serve sustainable development. In the field of Health and Society, Université Paris-Est benefits from a strong potential with UPEC s Universitary Hospital Henri Mondor and ENVA s researchers (veterinary school). These teams are a major asset in human and animal health. Image and Media, the third focus area, is a pole located on INA Sup, the European centre for research, training and education on Digital Media and its collaborations with Université Paris-Est s members working on humanities and sciences. These focus areas strengthen the links between scientists, academics and engineers through multi-disciplinary cooperation projects.
