I. ABOUT CISDEM CONTACTMANAGER Probably hundreds of contacts you have in your Address Book (also know as Contacts), but how many of them have complete information? Someday you like to send an email and happen to know the address is missing or call someone to find out his number isn t filled in, especially with time going, it becomes a big headache to manage. However, Cisdem ContactManager help you arrange your contacts as easy as a pie. It is a professional software specifically designed for amending contacts with 13 screening conditions provided as to make sure all your contacts problems be eradicated entirely. Without a doubt, Cisdem ContactManager is one of the most capable and efficient utility out there to help you with your contacts management. 3
II. ACTIVATING THE APP Cisdem ContactManager is available on our official website at http://www.cisdem.com/contactmanager-mac.html. Once you have it downloaded to your computer, please double-click the DMG file to initiate the installation, and a window with this app s icon will appear on the screen after you do so, indicating the installation is completed. You then need to relocate the icon to desktop or Applications folder. Activating Cisdem ContactManager is a fairly easy task. You just need to launch the app first, tap on the Help on the menu bar, and select the Register Cisdem ContactManager from the list. Once the registration window shows on the screen, you have to copy-n-paste your registration code into the Keycode box, and then click Register button to confirm everything. 4
III. APP OPERATING i. Importing Contacts For the first time when you run the app, system will ask your permission to visit your Contacts. After click OK, all the entries in your Contacts will be loaded to Cisdem ContactManager and displayed accordingly, besides, no further permission will be asked next time you run it. In case that you mistakenly click Don t Allow or you no longer want Cisdem ContactManager to access your Contacts, go to System Preferences and select Security&Privacy to shut it down. 5
Click Privacy and then unmark Cisdem ContactManager on the left column. ii. Editing Contacts in Main Interface Customizing Displayed Field After have all your contacts displayed in main interface, Cisdem ContactManager by default shows first names, last names, home email and mobile numbers of your contacts, however if you want it list in your way, you are always free to change them. To do that, you only need to right click on the top of any list, and then mark or unmark the information you want to be displayed there, the app will reveal all the modifications accordingly. 6
Editing a Contact Once interconnection built between your Address Book and Cisdem ContactManager, you can directly edit contacts information in Cisdem ContactManager without going to Address Book any more. Just click at the corresponding item and all changes will automatically sync to address book, likewise all the operation did in Address Book can be sync to Cisdem ContactManager by clicking. Deleting a Contacts As it well elaborated above, users no longer need to go to Address Book for an edit, deleting a contact can be achieved in the same way. Simply select those unwanted contacts and then right click to delete them. But please notice that all the contacted removed from Cisdem ContactManager will also disappear from your Address Book. 7
iii. Searching Questionable Contacts After done with all the preparation work, the next thing you need to do is searching questionable contacts, to do that, please click Cisdem ContactManager on menu bar and then select Preferences. In total 13 screening conditions are offered in the app, each of which means the following: 1. Duplicate Contacts That name of contacts appears more than once in Address Book will be screened on this condition. 2. Incomplete Name Name of this contact is incomplete which means the first or last name is missing or blank. 8
3. Invalid Characters Some information of this contacts may contain invalid characters or mistakes unrecognized by system, for example email address without @,.com or phone number with letters will be considered as containing invalid characters. 4. Duplicate Address This contacts has duplicated address in different fields, for example home address and work address, but only these addresses with exactly the same information including street, district, city, post-code and country will be classified to duplicate address. 5. Duplicate Phone Number This contacts has duplicated phone number in different fields, for example iphone and mobile phone, but only these numbers with exactly the same information will be classified to duplicate phone number. 6. Duplicate Email Address This contacts has duplicated email address in different fields, for example home email and work email, but only these email address with exactly the same information will be classified to duplicate phone number. 7. Note with Spacing Only The note of this contact mistakenly or intentionally typed with only blank space and by marking this condition, app will remove the spacing for you. 8. Unusual Title The allowed title and suffix are showed in Suffix & Title and those excluded will be listed as unusual ones. 9
9. Unusual Suffix as per suffix, you may refer to the figure above. 10. Spacing in the First Name Among characters of the first name, there exists some blank space. In this case, those contacts will be listed under this condition. 11. Nickname with Spacing Only The nickname of this contact mistakenly or intentionally typed with only blank space, and by marking this condition, app will remove the spacing for you. 12. Blank Name Name of this contact is missing or blank. 13. Emails Duplicated among Multiple Contacts The same Email address appears in more than one contacts, for example Mike and Jack has the same home email, in this case, these two contacts will be screened under this condition. Click Ok to end searching and go to Amending Interface. 10
iv. Amending the Screened Contacts System will bring you to Amending Interface after a click on, you will see all the questionable contacts are showed on the left column under each condition, meanwhile, you are allowed to hide or show the content for a more convenient operation. Click any of them, detailed information will be displayed on the right part of the interface including Name of the contact, Problem, Solution and Details. Problem provides you with the particular description of the problem and there are multiple solutions offered below, choose any of which, result before or after fixing will be presented accordingly. If you are quite happy with the solution, click to make it come true. But aware that all the changes made here will automatically update to your Address Book. You can click to obtain a detailed information there. Additionally, during your editing, you are free to re-select conditions or return to main interface by clicking. v. Exporting Contacts There are eight output format options provided in Contacts Exporter: CSV, vcard, TXT, Docx, HTML, Excel, Numbers and Pages. So you can easily browse, share all of your contacts, or 11
simply just to save it elsewhere for backup. Other than export all the contacts, Cisdem ContactManager allows you to only certain of them. To reach the former, you only need to click nnnnnnnin main interface and the latter can be achieved by right clicking those wanted ones after highlight them, then select export. At this point, you need to choose the output format. You can also choose to export all the displayed contacts or all contacts information by clicking the corresponding option. After that, you then need to click Save button to complete the exportation. 12
