Otto Schell, Member of DSAG Board and Head of Globalization Workgroup Otto Schell Global architecture or application landscapes can change from decentral to central approaches and vice versa depending on your business models, technical possibilities and involved countries. Discuss with us methodic approaches and scenarios with their consequences. Frank Schellenberger DSAG Speaker WG Global Application Architecture Frank Schellenberger Operating and supporting a global SAP landscape is item of more and more companies agenda. With our Globalization Symposium, we offer you relevant information and a platform for exchanging experiences on all levels of support. Starting from basic questions such as handling country versions through to dealing with challenges of governance frameworks for global template implementation. I would like to invite you to meet other companies to share best practices for managing global SAP landscape. Jan Schuback Jan Schuback DSAG Speaker WG Support of existing Global Landscapes Global companies continue to extend the reach of their global ERP Systems to more and challenging countries. Being successful in doing so requires stringent governance of the projects and programs involved. We have compiled a selection of approaches for different rollout projects. These projects are in different countries, in different stages from implementation to template maintenance, with different compliance models and from snapshots within the rollout to long-term overview in company endeavors with SAP to allow sharing of experiences and best practices. Dr. Gunter E. Seidel Dr. Gunter E. Seidel DSAG Speaker WG Global Rollout & Project Management Learn about services, tools and support by SAP Globalization Services for your global implementations. 4 AGENDA WELCOME I AGENDA I TRACKS DAY 1 I TRACKS DAY 2 I INFORMATION ARRIVAL DATE, WEDNESDAY, MAY 21 07:00 PM 11:00 PM PRE-CHECK-IN & GET TOGETHER EVENT Imperial Riding School Renaissance Vienna Hotel DAY 1, THURSDAY, MAY 22 08:00 AM 09:30 AM CHECK-IN 09:30 AM 10:15 AM KEYNOTE Welcome and Introduction How new technologies or industry trends impact global environments and how these are going to be reflected during the 6th Globalization Symposium is going to be adressed during the DSAG Keynote. Welcome from SAP to Vienna Globalization: Taking SAP to the World In a world of constant change, new market trends and fading boundaries, how is SAP helping you address global as well as local needs and challenges. 10:15 AM 11:15 AM KEYNOTE Typically German Who am I? Germans differ in their character as well as their personality from Chinese, Indians or Americans nobody would deny that. It may become more difficult alltogether to define those aspects and to identify the concrete differences. The answer to the question: what makes Germans different? is often answered by listing typical attributes assigned to Germans: Germans are always on time, they like order and structure, eat Brezel, drink beer and wear traditional leather trousers all day... The keynote will try to make own cultural positioning more transparent in order to reach a better understanding in intercultural issues. Speaker: Otto Schell, Member of DSAG Board and Head of Globalization Workgroup & Workgroup Speaker Speaker: Mag. Klaus Sickinger, Managing Director SAP Austria, SAP Speaker: Verose VR, Senior Vice President SAP Globalization Services, SAP Speaker: Prof. Dr. Katja Kuhn, Academic Dean, School of Engineering and Architecture, SRH University Heidelberg 11:15 AM 11:45 AM 11:45 AM 12:45 PM SPLIT INTO INDIVIDUAL TRACKS 1 4 TRACK 1: TRACK 2: TRACK 3: TRACK 4: GLOBALIZATION AT A GLANCE INSIGHTS IN SERVICES AND TOOLS With SAP Globalization Services, customers can easily prepare for global software rollouts and maintenance of any size. The diverse services, tools or information sources assist in the construction and adaptation of an appropriate international IT topology as well as configuration of SAP solutions for country-specific characteristics. Rollouts can thus be carried out in less time and with correspondingly lower costs. Based on these tools and services global SAP systems can be maintained effectively. GOVERNANCE AND COMPLIANCE MODELS TO SUPPORT INTERNATIONAL INITIATIVES (ROLLOUT, PROJECTMANAGEMENT, ETC.) These models cover all aspects of the governance of global programs. They specifically consider the necessary structures to develop, deploy and maintain a global SAP system within a global system landscape. Development aspects cover the range from program management of global initiatives to the necessary governance structure. Deployment and maintenance handle the roll-out, compliant operation and improvement of global SAP environments, and the structures necessary for this as for instance a CcoE. APPLICATION ARCHITECTURE AND PRACTICE SCENARIOS Scenarios for global application architecture and application/system landscape can differ depending on business models, countries involved and technical possiblilities. This track covers what the best practices and their consequences are (advantages/ disadvantages). Another challenge in Enterprise Architeture Management is transparency about used application landscapes (e.g. systems, company codes, SAP-plants, interfaces) and their documentation to support architecture decisions. GLOBALIZATION FRAMEWORK ENABLED BY NEW TECHNOLOGIES Automated/industrialized business models, socialized processes that support new market strategies, predictive appliance or intelligent machine-to-machine scenarios are not far away. They will become reality enabled by new technologies. How to accelerate this transformation in concurrent programs, related challenges and opportunities will be discussed in this track. 12:45 PM 02:00 PM 02:00 PM 06:00 PM SPLIT INTO INDIVIDUAL TRACKS 1 4 07:30 PM 01:00 AM EVENING EVENT: VIENNESE WINE TAVERN WIENINGER
