Using Extended Analytics to sync Essbase/Other Systems to HFM

Syncing HFM Elim & Adj Data to Other Databases Extended Analytics (EA) solution for syncing HFM elimination and adjustment entries to Planning/Essbase or other systems as may be required. Source file creation set up a reusable EA (HFM Extended Analytics) template to extract HFM elimination and adjustment data using the flat file option. File should be extracted to a directory which is accessible by FDQM. Can use the HFM taskflow function maintain consistent processing. Target file set and creation; Create new FDM location, set import format for EA source file, assign appropriate attributes. location Determine adaptor assignment essbase or datamart. Assign dimension attributes and assign to new location. Build out mapping tables based on assigned adaptor dimensions Test process and validate data. Essential that the process is consistent and verifiable 9

Source File Definition Automation Features Mapping Essentials

Source Files Mapping - Automation Source Files; Best practice is to coordinate with IT operations early in the project to establish field configuration and format Access scripting should be available to the user on a monthly basis and server access granted for file placement Mapping; Mapping process is required for all target dimensions. Best accomplished by the user responsible for data loading. Avoid mapping full GL COA. Use source file and excel data management to determine unique dimension fields and map what is in use. Automation; The ETL process can be automated to a single click process. Scripting is fairly dynamic and requires consulting support to set up. 11
