Key Speakers Mark Carver Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty Martin Cross Thomas Eggar LLP Frank Maher Legal Risk LLP Sandy Boyle Mills & Reeve LLP Mark joined Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) in February 2009 as Head of Financial Lines (UK) and Global Head of Professional Indemnity. Mark is responsible for the AGCS UK Financial Lines portfolio including Directors and Officers, Financial Institutions, Professional Indemnity and the AGCS Global Professional Indemnity portfolio. Mark has previously held several senior management positions at a major insurer and is considered a specialist in solicitors professional indemnity. Mark holds a BA (Hons) from the University of Leicester and is also an ACII. Martin has been a partner with the firm since 1982 and is currently head of the firm s commercial dispute resolution practice group. Martin is the firm s risk management partner and as part of his role is responsible for the firm s adherence to the SRA s Code of Conduct. Martin also leads the firm s insolvency and corporate recovery practice and specialises in fraud and cross-border commercial disputes. Martin is a board member of Avrio Advocati, a European-based network of law firms, and leads a team dealing with international fraud. Frank is a practising solicitor and partner in Legal Risk LLP, solicitors specialising in professional regulation and professional indemnity. His clients comprise many major US, European and UK 100 law firms, their insurers and Law Societies. His professional indemnity practice covers policy coverage, mergers and claims. Compliance advice includes Legal Services Act issues, cross-border compliance, advice on conflicts and defending disciplinary investigations. Frank is author of Risk Management in the Legal Profession, now in its third edition. Sandy is Director of Human Resources and a member of the firm s Executive Board. He has overall responsibility for the people aspects of the firm s business strategy which include career development, diversity and inclusion, employee engagement, learning and development, performance management, resourcing, reward and organisational development. Based in Cambridge, Sandy divides his time between the firm s six offices. Mills & Reeve LLP has been included as one of the Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For for the last seven years.

He handles a wide range of professional indemnity matters covering professionals such as surveyors, management consultants, solicitors and investment brokers. In addition, David advises clients on issues arising from political risk and financial lines policies. He is championed by clients as a great all-rounder and is one of the industry s greats (Chambers and Partners UK Directory 2009) Will has been a partner in the Insurance and Reinsurance Group of Mayer Brown International LLP since 2002. Defending professional negligence claims against lawyers (including UK solicitors, barristers, and foreign lawyers sued in England) is a significant part of his practice, particularly claims arising from corporate, finance, real estate, and other transactional work. He also advises solicitors and other professional firms about risk management. Michael has extensive experience in professional indemnity claims, defending various professionals including solicitors, construction engineers, architects, accountants, surveyors (both risk and property), insurance intermediaries, computer software designers and adjusters. He defends these professionals on various claims including allegations of breach of contract and negligence, a multi-million pound dispute with regard to an income tax mitigation scheme, claims arising from design and construction and damage and injury caused by products/machinery etc. Michael also advises insurers on policy coverage issues. Tony is a civil/commercial litigator of a five partner general practice in Bristol. Now a Consultant with Henriques Griffiths, Tony was Managing Partner for more than ten years. Henriques Griffiths is a resilient high street practice, successfully emerging from its second recession.the immediate Past President of Bristol Law Society, Tony also sits as a Deputy District Judge (Civil) on the Western Circuit and is also an Assistant Deputy Coroner for the District of Avon.
