a job well done... We think it s really important to reward you for a job well done. That s why we offer a range of benefits. In the following pages, you ll find details of all the benefits that we offer across Mitie, up and down the country. The information in this booklet may not be relevant to everyone, but your contract of employment will confirm which formal benefits you are entitled to, for example the number of days holiday you may take each year. In some cases, your entitlement to such benefits may only be triggered once you have passed your probationary period, but your contract will confirm this too. In addition to the formal benefits, we also provide many extra rewards to enhance your wellbeing and enjoyment at work, such as our Stars recognition scheme and our health awareness days. We hope you ll agree that Mitie offers a great range of employee benefits. When we say we re all about our people, we really mean it. sun, sea and surf! Holidays We understand that holiday is really important to you. We offer holiday entitlements ranging from 5.6 weeks to 6.6 weeks holiday per year. This works out as between 28 days and 33 days holiday per year, including statutory holidays, for an employee who works five days per week. Of course, part time employees are entitled to a pro-rated holiday entitlement according to the hours they work each week. Some of you may have a rising entitlement based on the length of time you have worked for Mitie. If in doubt, your terms and conditions or your line manager will confirm your holiday entitlement for you. we know holiday is important to you. There are some important things you need to know about booking and taking your holidays, so please refer to the Time off work section in your employee handbook for all the details. 2 your rewards handbook
make hay while the sun shines... Salary Saver Pension Scheme Saving for your retirement is really crucial. That s why we operate an occupational pension scheme for you. Mitie s Salary Saver Pension Scheme enables you to save money each month while you re working, which you will then be able to enjoy during your retirement. The scheme is operated on a salary sacrifice basis, which means that you effectively give up the right to part of your salary and instead Mitie pays an additional pension contribution corresponding to the amount of salary you have given up. The effect of this is that you will not pay any National Insurance contributions on the part of your salary you have given up, making you a saving! Don t worry though; your notional salary (the salary you would receive if you were not in any salary sacrifice schemes) will be used for other purposes such as calculating any pay increases. Workplace pensions Under current legislation, the company may be required to automatically enrol you into a pension scheme which meets certain statutory requirements and to which both you and the company make contributions. The automatic pension enrolment scheme that Mitie operates is called the People s Pension, which is a retirement benefits scheme. If you are eligible to join the scheme, Mitie is entitled to deduct from your pay any pension contributions due from you in connection with your membership of this pension scheme and will pay these deductions to the scheme on your behalf in accordance with the rules of the scheme. You can opt out of the scheme if you want via www.thepeoplespension.co.uk With the Mitie scheme you can control how your pension fund is managed. It offers lifestyle choices depending on the level of risk you wish to take. If you are far from retirement, you may prefer to take a higher risk strategy to try to enhance your funds, or if you are close to retirement you will probably prefer to take a low risk approach so that you maintain your fund levels. You are able to change your lifestyle options whenever you like. Contact your HR representative or consult Minet or Milife for more information. your rewards handbook 3
it s good to share. Share Incentive Plan (SIP) We all know we need to save and invest for the future, but putting money aside regularly can be a big challenge. The SIP is an all-employee share plan that gives you a chance to buy Mitie shares at a discount. The main advantage of buying Mitie shares through the SIP is that you don t have to pay income tax or National Insurance contributions on the part of your pay you decide to invest through the plan. you become a Mitie shareholder. What is also great is that you can join the scheme at any time during the year! So how does the scheme work? You choose a regular amount to invest and buy Mitie shares each month it can be any amount between 10 and 150 For every ten Mitie shares you buy we give you an extra one free as an added bonus You will not be charged Capital Gains Tax if your SIP investment increases in value over time You become a Mitie shareholder So why is the SIP so special? The SIP is only available to Mitie people and gives you a big advantage over regular investors. If you wanted to buy Mitie shares on the open market, you would have to pay tax on the part of your salary you wanted to invest. You would also need to use a share dealing service, which would probably charge fees and commissions. What s more, any gain in value would be subject to Capital Gains Tax when you sold them. So it s fair to say the SIP offers you a much better deal. But remember, good investment planning means a long-term commitment, and you ll need to hold your shares in the plan for at least five years to get all these benefits. After that, you can do what you like with your shares or even keep them sheltered from tax in the plan for as long as you are a Mitie employee. This sounds good. I want to join! The plan is managed for us by Capita so please contact them directly to join the plan or make changes to your monthly investments, or for any additional support. You can contact them either on +44 (0) 871 664 0542 or by emailing mitiesip@capita.co.uk. You can also find more information and guidance on the SIP at www.getyourshare.mitie.com References T: +44 (0) 871 664 0542 E: mitiesip@capita.co.uk getyourshare.mitie.com 4 your rewards handbook

saving for a rainy day. Save As You Earn (SAYE) Scheme Mitie s SAYE Scheme is a savings-based scheme which enables you to purchase shares in Mitie Group plc. That way you can own a little bit of the company you work for. But it s not the only benefit of joining the scheme. It s also an easy and safe way to save money regularly. More importantly, it gives you the option to use these savings to buy Mitie shares at a special discount. There s no risk to your savings, plus you get the chance to cash in if the share price rises. So, how does it work? If you have sufficient service on the annual entry date, you will be invited to join the scheme. To do this you ll need to decide how much you can afford to pay into the scheme each month over the next three years. You can save from as little as 5 up to 500 a month. There s no need to worry about your savings with the SAYE Scheme either, as they are held safely in a Capita savings account which is unique to you, for the duration of the scheme. That means nobody else can access the money you have saved, not even Mitie. Now here s the good bit: you get to buy the shares at the fixed scheme price that is the price they were when you started your savings, plus a discount. Hopefully the share price will have risen over the course of the SAYE Scheme and therefore the shares will be worth more than it will cost you to buy them. You can sell them any time you wish, but you may prefer to hold onto your little piece of Mitie for a bit longer. If you retire or are made redundant while you are saving, Capita will write to you with details of your choices. As a guide, you will be able to take your savings and interest (if offered) and buy the shares within six months of your leaving date. If you resign or are dismissed you will not be able to buy the shares. You can continue saving or you can take your savings and whatever interest you are due. If this happens to you, Capita will write to you and set out your choices. This sounds good. How do I join? You can join the scheme only during the invitation period. Please check Minet or speak to your HR representative to find out when the next invitation window will open. And remember, this scheme is offered in addition to the Share Incentive Plan (SIP) you can join both, if you like. References SAYE Scheme T: +44 (0) 871 664 0542 E: mitiesaye@capita.co.uk mitie-shares.com Bonus and other incentives We think it s really important to incentivise people for their continued commitment to Mitie. That s why, at some point in your career with Mitie, you may be entitled to a bonus or other incentive such as Executive Share Options or Long Term Incentive Plans (we call these LTIPs). All of these schemes are based on agreed objectives and are designed to reward exceptional performance. If you are offered any of these reward schemes during your career, we will give you full details of how the schemes work and how they will be applied to you at that time. your rewards handbook 7
as easy as a,b,c... Childcare vouchers We are aware that many of our people are parents who need affordable, reliable childcare while they are at work. We know how expensive childcare can sometimes be. That s why we offer our people the opportunity to purchase childcare vouchers through salary sacrifice. So how does it work? If you are using registered or approved childcare, you can choose to claim part of your salary in childcare vouchers to pay for it. They are tax and National Insurance (NI) free so this means that you get extra value from your pay each month. The exact amount you can save depends on how much you earn and how much tax and NI you currently pay however, it may be possible for you to save up to 1,000 a year. Not sure if this is for you? Then you should also know that: the savings you can make are per person. If you have a wife, husband or partner who also works for an employer that operates a scheme, you could double your household savings; and you can use childcare vouchers to pay for the care of children up to the age of 15 or 16 if they are disabled, including: home-based care such as childminders, nannies and au pairs; If you want to find out more about the scheme and how to register, go to the Employee Benefits section on Minet or Milife or ask your HR representative for more information. You can also find out more details on the website of our provider, Edenred, at www.childcarevouchers.co.uk/ Parents/Pages/default.aspx or by calling their Helpdesk on +44 (0) 800 247 1233.
