RBI BCP Readiness Report Document Version History First version 21/8/2012 Auto generated by Sanovi DRM Executive Summary As part of the regulators recommendations on maintaining BCP/DR plan, RBI recommends that the bank should submit an annual statement describing the critical applications, their RTO and banks strategy to achieve them. This report is tailor made to address these requirement and several important sections of the report are auto generated through a DR Management tool for improved information accuracy. DR Setup Description The bank has a BCP and IT DR policy that is geared to meet the recovery service levels agreed upon with the business. The bank has the following DR setup. Primary site is located at Mumbai and the DR site is located at Chennai and they are connected using a dedicated network link. The primary site in Mumbai is owned and operated by the bank while the DR site in Chennai is located at the vendor xxxx IDC premises. The available network capacity between Mumbai and Chennai is 300 Mbps, Reliance Infocomm is the primary communication service provider while Airtel is the secondary provider. The providers are configured with autofailover mode. The high level site topology and connectivity between the sites is as show in the figure 1 below. The DR solution has been designed to take care of the following: Data Integrity solution takes care to ensure that business set RPO goals are met and application level consistency is being met.

Infrastructure and Facilities the solution takes care to ensure that the various infrastructure components and facilities at the primary and DR site are available and accounted for DR. Design for testability keeping in view that the amount of downtime required for test is minimum, the steps to do DR test have been automated and the people required to do drills has been kept to a minimum. This also prepares the operational staff for outage situations. Training & awareness program the bank recognizes and has put in place training and awareness for all personnel that are part of the IT team. Verify Database Mode on DR BCP Structure and DR Team Details The bank has a well established organization structure to support Business Continuity operations and a dedicated DR team to ensure recovery readiness of critical applications. The BCP manager reports to a BCP steering committee that comprises of business owners and the CIO. The CIO is responsible for the IT DR program and has a dedicated DR manager that coordinates with the various application teams to ensure IT recovery readiness.
