Typographical conventions: Bold Italic Monospace Identifies options, keywords, and items in a description. Indicates variables, new terms and concepts, foreign words, or emphasis. Identifies examples of specific data values, and messages from the system, or information that you should actually type. Icons are used to highlight new features and indicate enhanced features and item keys: Icon Indicates an item key. HEALTHWISE Meaningful Use eclinicalworks is partnered with Healthwise as Meaningful Use certified solution, to efficiently provide patient instruction documents at the point of care. Health information provided by Healthwise is easy to use and understand, with interactive tools, decision aids, illustrations, and action-oriented education. This education is currently available in the ecw application for the providers to select instruction documents to review and print for the patient. Patient instruction documents printed for an encounter will be tracked for reporting purposes such as are required for Meaningful Use. Activation The patient education integration must be activated prior to use: If you are a new client, contact eclinicalworks Sales for pricing and contracting. If you are an existing client still in implementation, notify your Project Manager. If a live client, enter a support case. Configuring Healthwise EMR Module The Healthwise Patient Education EMR Module contains an interface for searching, viewing and printing patient educations materials. The administration page of the module allows users or administrators to configure the application. To configure the application using Administration page: 1. Open Healthwise Patient Education EMR Module using the URL specific to your practice. The URL contains a token and a key that are specific to your practice. Contact eclinicalworks Project Manager to obtain URL that is specific to your practice. HEALTHWISE CONFIGURING HEALTHWISE EMR MODULE 2. Click Administration Page under Administration section: 3. Upon accessing the Administration Page for the first time, create a new Administrator password. If the user is prompted for a password on first entry, enter the client token. User can find the client token in the practice-specific URL. For example, in the aforementioned sample URL, the client token is: ecw.stelsewhere 4. Customize header and footer to be printed on the patient instruction documents: The custom header and footer may include a logo, general contact information, and any necessary disclaimers. Healthwise Patient Education EMR Module includes a unique feature known as Go-to-Web. This URL includes in-depth complementary information about a given topic in the Healthwise Knowledgebase, as well as a code that is mapped to the appropriate topic(s) in the Knowledgebase. The Go-To-Web URL may be defined once for each client token and is not configurable at the group level. This URL prints the actual instruction document that the provider gives to the patient. Note: The default Go-to-Web URL should be https://www.healthwise.net/ecw. a. Type the Go-to-Web URL in the GOTOWEB URL field. b. Click Save. OR Click Cancel to exit to the Administration page. HEALTHWISE ACCESSING HEALTHWISE PATIENT EDUCATION Accessing Healthwise Patient Education Healthwise is embedded within eclinicalworks, to make it easy for a provider to deliver consistent and meaningful patient education. To access Healthwise patient education: 1. From the Treatment window, select the diagnosis tab. 2. HEALTHWISE PRINTING INSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS FROM HEALTHWISE 3. Search for the patient instruction documents using one of the following options: Suggestions - displayed by default upon opening the window. The relevant instruction documents are displayed based on the patient age, gender, and diagnosis selected in the Treatment window. New Search - search through all instruction documents by keyword(s). A-Z - browse instruction documents in alphabetical order. Categories - browse instruction documents by category. Favorites - displays the instruction documents saved as favorites by the Healthwise key, allowing quick access to commonly referenced documents. 4. Select the language as English or Spanish using the Language drop-down list (if in contract). By default, the instruction documents are displayed in English. 5. Click the Make Favorite button to save the selected instruction document under the Favorites tab for quick access in the future by the current user. Note: The instruction documents under Favorites tab are user-specific, not patient-specific. Printing Instruction Documents from Healthwise Healthwise is embedded within eclinicalworks, to make it easy for a provider to deliver consistent and meaningful patient education. To add instruction documents to the print queue: 1. From the Treatment window, select the diagnosis tab. 2. Click the Education drop-down list to select the Patient Education option. The Patient Education window opens with suggestions based on the selected patient's age, gender, and diagnoses. 3. Select the instruction document. 4. Click the Hold button to add the selected instruction document into the print queue. This option allows you to browse for other instruction documents and print as many as you desire. 5. Select one of the Print Size options to choose font size for easier reading. 6. Click Print(#) button to display list of instruction documents added to the queue. Note: Use Print(#) button in the upper right corner to print the patient instructions. The Print button located in the bottom left corner is used only to print the application window. SmartCare solution is embedded within eclinicalworks, to make it easy for a provider to deliver consistent and meaningful patient education. To print instruction documents from A.D.A.M. SmartCare: 1. From the Treatment window, select the diagnosis tab. 2. Click the Education drop-down list to select Patient Education option: Based on the selected patient s age, gender, and diagnoses, the Patient Education window opens with suggestions under the Search tab. 3. (Optional) Use the INFO Button Search drop-down button to display filter criteria that can be used to find relevant instruction documents. The Info Button Search is a certification and standard criteria required for Meaningful Use - Stage 2 to use clinically relevant information from certified EHR technology to identify patient-specific education resources and provide those resources to the patient. The filter criteria supported under the Info Button Search is defined by the patient education vendors that partner with ecw. Of all the filters that A.D.A.M. SmartCare provides, ecw supports ICD, NDC, and LOINC Codes that are required for Meaningful Use: Copyright eclinicalworks, April 2014 - Patient Education Users Guide 17

Click Print to print the selected instruction document. If there is more than one patient-specific instruction document to be printed, it is recommended to add the instruction documents to the print queue and then print from the print queue. The print queue allows you to browse for other instruction documents and print as many as you desire. 5. To add instruction documents to the print queue: a. Select the instruction document(s).
