1 Project description It is low cost, standalone AMC FMC carrier for 2 modules. It can be connected to the PC using QSFP cable of fiber and QSFP-PCIe converter. Such converter can be purchased from Vadatech but we also prepare OH version. It has 4 SFP+ cages, 2 QSFP cages, 8 trigger I/O routed to MLVDS. The carrier is supplied from standard 12V DC supply, has simplified shelf manager that controls fans. It also pocess local LAN for diagnostics and monitoring. AMC modules are mounted in specially designed ubackplane board. Case is 101mm tall, 228mm wide and 234,5mm long. Example configurations: 2 Functional specifications Connectivity: 2 QSFP cages for PCIe connectivity 4 SFP+ cages for Ethernet 8 SMA connectors interchangeable with 8 LEMO connectors 10/100 LAN 1 SMA clock input Clocking: I/O: 1 clock input Clock routing configurable using UFL jumpers 8 in/out with individually configured direction. Possible use either SMA single ended or LEMO 2-pole with MLVDS. Connectors may be used as RS232 as well. Other: Integrated cooling system with temperature control Supply: Power input 12V Page 3 of 14

There are several options of usage inputs and outputs. In the Figure 5 all I/O are lead out to LEMO 00 connectors which are in MLVDS standard. Any LEMO 00 connector may be interchangable with SMA connector. When SMA connector is used the signal is transmitted through transceiver to MLVDS. Group of signals 1 to 4 and 5 to 8 can be used as RS232 as well. In the Figure 6 group 1 to 4 is used as RS232 (Connected through MAX3232) and group 5 to 8 is lead out to SMA.
