From as little as S$1.47 1 a day, ManuCompleteCare (I), a critical illness protection plan, is designed to give you financial support for the treatment of critical illnesses 2, which include early stage cover for many covered critical illnesses. The payouts from this plan can be used to explore a choice of treatment options as you focus on your recovery. to defray expenses not covered by medical insurance plans. as income replacement in the event that you are unable to work or prefer to take a break from work due to critical illness. 1 Premium is based on annual mode of payment and profile is based on a male, non-smoker, aged 25 at last birthday, who purchased ManuCompleteCare (I) with policy term to age 65 for a sum assured of S$50,000. Premium rates are not guaranteed and may be adjusted by Manulife (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. based on future experience. 2 Amount paid by Manulife (Singapore) Pte. Caring for You, Right from the Beginning ManuCompleteCare (I) pays the basic sum insured 3 in the event that the Life Insured is diagnosed as suffering from any one of the covered Comprehensive Critical Illnesses 4, which include illnesses that are in the early stages. The lump sum payout from ManuCompleteCare (I) will come in handy as it helps to defray expenses not covered by medical insurance plans. The payout could also be used to pay for your mortgage instalments and children s education fees or to provide replacement of income. 3 The minimum and maximum basic sum insured for the plan are respectively S$30,000 and S$150,000. 4 There is a waiting period of 90 days from the Policy Issue Date or date of last reinstatement, whichever is later. No benefit will be payable for events occurring within this waiting period. This Policy will terminate if 100% of the basic sum insured is paid.

The definitions can be found in the Product Summary that can be obtained from a Manulife Financial Planner or any of our appointed distributors. 7 This Policy pays the basic sum insured in the event the Life Insured suffers TPD before the policy anniversary immediately following the Life Insured s 65 th birthday. The disability must be for a minimum period of 6 consecutive months before a claim can be admitted. The policy will terminate upon such a claim unless the full sum insured is not paid out due to per life limits for TPD. 8 In the event of loss of life of the Life Insured, this Policy will pay the basic sum insured. The Policy will terminate upon such a claim. This benefit is not payable if the Life Insured dies from suicide within 1 year from the Policy Issue Date or date of reinstatement, whichever is later. Extra Support that You will Need To further help you lighten the financial burden, if the Life Insured is diagnosed with any of the covered Additional Critical Illnesses, which are known to be particularly expensive to treat, ManuCompleteCare (I) will pay 100% of the basic sum insured as the Additional Critical Illness Benefit 9. This is in addition to the Comprehensive Critical Illness Benefit which is also payable. Covered Additional Critical Illnesses (Loss of Sight) 10 List of covered Additional Critical Illnesses Alzheimer's Disease/Severe Bladder Cancer Blindness Dementia 10 Bone Cancer Brain Cancer Larynx Cancer Leukemia Esophagus Cancer Parkinson's Disease 10 The coverage for these conditions will cease at the end of the selected policy term, except that if the policy term chosen is one which ceases at the Policy Anniversary immediately after the Life Insured s 99 th birthday, coverage will cease at the Policy Anniversary immediately after the Life Insured s 85 th birthday. 9 To be eligible for the Benefit, the Life Insured has to survive for a period of seven (7) days from the date of diagnosis. A waiting period of 90 days from the Policy Issue Date or date of last reinstatement, whichever is later, applies to this Benefit. No benefit will be payable for events occurring within this waiting period. In addition, if a Comprehensive Critical Illness claim is paid before an Additional Critical Illness claim is submitted, and where the Policy terminates on the diagnosis of the Comprehensive Critical Illness, no Additional Critical Illness Benefit will be paid. 10 Alzheimer s Disease, Blindness (Loss of Sight) and Parkinson s Disease are also in the list of covered Comprehensive Critical Illnesses, but they are the less severe forms of the illnesses than these appearing under the list of covered Additional Critical Illnesses. Special Benefits ManuCompleteCare (I) provides you with an additional payout of 20% of the basic sum insured 11 for covered Special Benefit Conditions. The additional payout will help you better manage the incurred medical expenses and lifestyle changes as a result of the illness. A maximum of 6 claims 12 can be made under the Special Benefit with no waiting period between claims. In this way, you will not have to worry about your treatment being affected due to delayed payments. Insulin Dependent Diabetes Mellitus Kawasaki Disease # Diagnosis of Dengue Fever alone does not meet the definition of this condition. Osteogenesis Imperfecta Rheumatic Fever with Valvular Impairment Severe Haemophilia Severe Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis Type I Juvenile Spinal Amyotrophy The coverage for these conditions will cease at the Policy Anniversary immediately after the 18 th birthday for the Life Insured. 11 Each Special Benefit is 20% of the basic sum insured (capped at S$25,000 per condition, aggregating all policies which we are liable for on the Life Insured). Payment of the Special Benefit does not reduce the basic sum insured. Each of the Special Benefit Conditions can only be paid once. A waiting period of 90 days from the Policy Issue Date or date of last reinstatement, whichever is later, applies to this Benefit. No benefit will be payable for events occurring within this waiting period. 12 Each of the claims must be for a different covered Special Benefit Condition. ManuCompleteCare (I) for You and Me Almost anyone can enjoy the comprehensive benefits of ManuCompleteCare (I). Life Insured has to be between the ages of 30 days and 65 years old at the time of application. Entry Age* Policy Term 30 days 55 To Policy Anniversary immediately after Life Insured s 65 th /75 th /85 th /99 th birthday 30 days 65 To Policy Anniversary immediately after Life Insured s 75 th /85 th /99 th birthday * Age refers to age at last birthday Premiums payable are based on the Life Insured s entry age 13. Therefore, the earlier you start this plan, the lower your regular premium payable. Illustrative Example 1 Mr. Tan is a 25-year-old non-smoker, who has ManuCompleteCare (I) that covers him till age 65. For a basic sum insured of S$50,000, he pays an annual premium of S$535.50 (S$1.47 per day). At age 32, he is diagnosed with Dengue Haemorrhagic Fever while holidaying in Thailand. He recovers from this and makes a Special Benefit claim. Manulife (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. pays him S$10,000 (20% of the basic sum insured). At age 40, during a routine health check, he is found to have serious cardiac arrhythmia. He is then treated with an insertion of a cardiac pacemaker. He makes a Comprehensive Critical Illness claim and Manulife (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. pays him the basic sum insured of S$50,000. His policy terminates thereafter. Mr. Tan pays: 15 years x S$535.50 = S$8,032.50 Manulife (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. pays: S$10,000 + S$50,000 = S$60,000 Illustrative Example 2 Mrs. Lee is a 40-year-old non-smoker, who has ManuCompleteCare (I) that covers her till age 85. For a basic sum insured of S$150,000, she pays an annual premium of S$4,624.50 (S$12.70 per day). At age 47, she is diagnosed with Brain Cancer. Her doctor classifies her cancer as late stage and recommends aggressive medical intervention. She is able to make claims under both the Comprehensive Critical Illness Benefit and Additional Critical Illness Benefit. Manulife (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. pays her a total of S$300,000 (200% of the basic sum insured). The payout goes a long way to help to alleviate her treatment expenses. Her policy terminates thereafter. Mrs. Lee pays: 7 years x S$4,624.50 = S$32,371.50 Manulife (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. pays: 200% x S$150,000 = S$300,000 13 Premium rates are not guaranteed. Manulife (Singapore) Pte.
