by Demandforce A key principle to using social media as a marketing tool is to engage customers by feeding them fresh and relevant information regularly. Demandforce D3 now offers a convenient way to do just that. Each Demandforce business can now connect its Facebook and Twitter pages directly into their Demandforce D3 portal using Timely by Demandforce. With one click, users can post status updates from the portal right to their Facebook and Twitter Pages. Plus, Timely by Demandforce optimizes the timing of updates to maximize impressions as well as the effectiveness of any post. Timely by Demandforce is the best way to stay active on Twitter and Facebook Here is how the business would set it up: 1. Enter a post in the Timely field on the left hand side of the Dashboard and click Schedule or Post now. Timely automatically schedules posts to maximize reach and clicks. 2. Another window will open asking to select which account to use. 3. A dropdown menu will appear that allows the business to select their Facebook Fan page. 1

4. A window will open to allow: whether or not the updates going out on the weekends how many updates posted per day 3. Then click the Authorize App button to allow Timely to use the account. The sync is complete. The business will be redirected to their Dashboard. 2

To post updates through Timely by Demandforce on a regular basis all the business has to do is: 1. Enter a post in the Timely field on the Dashboard. 2. Select either the Schedule button or Post Now button. If they select the Schedule button, the post will be queued for syndication at the most optimal time based on Timely s algorithm. If they select the Post Now button the post will be featured on social media site(s) in real time. The two factors that make up Timely by Demandforce s algorithm are: 1. The engagement level of the last 200 hundred posts (How many people reacted to the posts?) 2. The times when most posts get reactions (When did most people Like the post?) 3

Businesses can also track the effectiveness of every post. To do this: 1. Click the Settings link on the bottom of the Timely by Demandforce box. 2. Click the Performance tab. Timely allows businesses to easily track the performance of every post. 4

Timely by Demandforce FAQ Q: How do I connect my Twitter account and Facebook Fan Page? A: If you haven t connected any accounts yet, click any button within Timely on the D3 Dashboard and you ll be prompted to connect an account. Follow the wizard and you re done! Q: So I ve connected 1 account. How I do connect another? A: From the Settings tab you can add another account for Twitter or Facebook. Q: How many accounts can I connect? A: You can connect 1 Twitter account and 1 Facebook Fan Page. Q: How do I remove a Twitter or Facebook account from Timely? A: From the Settings tab you can remove any connected account by clicking Remove Account Q: Why kinds of Twitter account and Facebook accounts should be connected? A: You should connect business accounts instead of personal accounts. Q: How does scheduling in Timely work? A: You add posts and Timely automatically picks the best time for them to go out. Set it and forget it. Q: How does the Schedule button work? A: The schedule button automatically adds your Post to the Timely schedule and fills the next best time. Q: How does Post Now work? A: If you click Post Now, your update will automatically go out at that moment and view it s performance in the Performance tab. Q: Why are my links getting shortened? A: Timely automatically shortens links in your Post to shrink the size of the update and to track how many clicks that link gets. Q: Twitter has a maximum character count and Facebook does not. Will this character limit impact my Facebook posts? A: Yes. Regardless of posting to Twitter or Facebook we limit the character count to 140 characters. You can see how many characters you have left form within the posting window. Q: If a business has both Facebook and Twitter can they select where their updates are posted? A: If Twitter and Facebook are connected we will automatically publish updates to both services at the same time. Q: What is Timely's algorithm based on? A: We look at the last 200 updates posted from either Facebook and Twitter and figure out the times in which you get the most engagement. We then use those times to schedule any future posts. Q: Can I manually adjust the times my updates go out? A: Unfortunately there is no way to change this. It's automated and based on your past performance. Q: Can I pick certain days when scheduling my updates? 5

A: There is no way to pick individual days for Timely to publish. Q: How do I change my Timezone? A: There currently is no way to change your Timezone from within Timely. Timely will automatically use whatever timezone you have set in Facebook or Twitter. Q: How can I view my schedule of updates? A: You can access your schedule by clicking Settings, this will show you your entirely Timely schedule. Q: How can I edit one of my scheduled Tweets? A: If you hover over one of your schedule Tweets an Edit link will appear, click that and you can then edit and save your changes. Q: How can I delete one of my scheduled Tweets? A: If you hover over one of your schedule Tweets a Delete link will appear, click that and you re done. Q: How can I rearrange my schedule? A: Currently there is no way to rearrange your entire schedule, what you can do is hover over a schedule Post and Move To Top, which will move that post all the way to the top of your schedule. Q: What does Move to Top do? A: Move To Top allows you to jump important posts all the way to the top of your schedule if you don t want to wait for a particular post to go out. Q: Can I view the performance of my posts? A: Yes, click Settings from the Dashboard and then select the Performance tab. Q: What are reactions and how are they measured? A: Reactions are a combination of Likes and Comments on Facebook as well as Mentions and Retweets on Twitter. Q: How are clicks measured? A: Clicks are the number of times someone clicked on a link you shared through Timely Q: What is reach? A: Reach is the total number of people that might have seen a particular update, this is based on how many friends, followers and fans you have as well has how many followers someone who Retweets one of your posts has. Q: Can I change the number of posts that go out per day? A: If you go to your settings tab you can set Timely to send 1, 3, 5, or 9 posts per day. This is how many Posts it will pull from your schedule per day. So you have have 3 per day and have 30 posts schedule this will be exactly 10 days worth of posts. Q: Can I tell Timely to not post on Weekends? A: If you go to your settings tab you can turn weekends off on Timely. 6
