Florida BPA 2014-2015 SLC ISSUE

On behalf of the Florida State Officer Team, I would like to congratulate all of the Florida members that earned the right to attend and compete at the State Leadership Conference. You have earned the right by showing your strengths at the Regional conferences. The other state officers and I look forward to meeting you in February! I hope you are all working on your competitions so we can send the best members to represent us in Anaheim at the National Leadership Conference. The State Officer Team has worked to add several new features to this year s SLC. Foremost of these events is our SLC college fair. I encourage you all to attend. There is also the opportunity for your chapter to be recognized as a Golden Chapter, and for qualifying members to earn scholarship money for NLC. Please check our website, floridabpa.org, for more information! Best of luck to you all! Remember to Imagine, Believe, Become! January Tweet-A-Thon The National Officer Team is putting on another Tweet-A-Thon. It will be on January 5th. Let the National Center know what you and your chapter are doing. Tweet questions, comments, ideas, etc. Use #bpaallday. Remember, if anyone from your chapter participates in this Tweet-A-Thon, you are one step closer to earning the new Social Award, part of BPA Cares! #BPAMillion The National Office is calling on everyone: Current Members, Alumni, Advisors, Parents, anyone with a BPA memory. As we approach our 50th anniversary, the National Office wants to know what your BPA story is. You can post it to Facebook or Twitter with #bpamillion, or you can go to the official BPA Million page, and submit your memory, along with a brief video or photo. We are trying to find the essence of BPA...This is your legacy. ~ Kirk Lawson, Executive Director Page 3 Florida Business Professionals of America

Golden Chapter Award We know that we have some of the best chapters in BPA. Why should they have to wait until Nationals to be recognized? This year, the State Officer Team has created an Award for outstanding chapters in our association. By submitting an application for this award, you will put your chapter in a great position to then apply for the BPA Cares award. Some of the requirements for electing this award include to earn the award include electing chapter officers, participating in fundraisers, and engaging in a service project. We hope that you will check out this new opportunity, and we hope to see a representative from your chapter up on the podium in February. A link to the application can be found on our website, floridabpa.org SLC College Fair Florida BPA has some of the best members in the nation. Seeing as some of the top students in the state will be in one place, the State Officer Team has worked to build a college fair at this year s SLC. We hope you all will take time to attend! The fair will be held on Saturday, February 14th, from 9:00-3:00 Florida Business Professionals of America Page 4
