How To Connect Your Event To PayPal This document describes, in click by click detail, how to connect your event's registration page to your PayPal merchant account. You PayPal merchant account MUST BE a business account; not a personal nor a premier account. Your step by step instructions are in red text below. Login to your rsvpbook.com account and go to the Admin Dashboard / Tools Tab and click the PayPal Wizard Setup button. On the rsvpbook screen, click the Public.cert link (blue arrow) and Save the file to your desktop you will be asked to upload it to PayPal later do not open it Login to your PayPal Account Arrange your screen so that your PayPal and rsvpbook screens are side-by-side - you will be copying text from the PayPal screens and pasting into the rsvpbook screen: On the PayPal screen, click the Profile link (red arrow) rsvpbook.com Productivity Tool Tips v3.0 Page 1 of 12

Click the Browse button (downward red arrow) Find and select the Public.cert file that you downloaded from the PayPal Wizard setup screen on page 1 of this document Click the Add button (upward red arrow) Haven't downloaded the Public.cert file yet? Click the Public.cert link (blue arrow to the right) and store it on your computer's desktop. You should see the Successfully added a certificate message Copy the Cert ID (red oval below) Paste it into the Cert ID field on rsvpbook.com (see inset, blue arrow) On the rsvpbook screen, click the Save button (downward green arrow) On the rsvpbook screen, the Make Test Purchase screen will become visible Now log out of PayPal... On the PayPal page, click the Log Out link at the top of your PayPal page. If you miss this step, PayPal will complain during your test purchase that you can't use a credit card to pay yourself. Since you are logged in, they require you to pay with your PayPal account, which you do not want to do. On your rsvpbook screen,verify that you have entered your PayPal Account Email Address, the Identity Token and the Cert ID into the 3 fields provided (3 black arrows) Lastly, click the Make Test Purchase button (blue arrow). You will see the PayPal payment page open. Complete your purchase for $1 with your credit card. If everything is configured properly, your test purchase will go through and your PayPal status will change to Confirmed on the Tools tab. Your event will be ready for registrants only when your PayPal account is Confirmed. Yes, you will need to use a credit card and spend $1.00 in order to confirm your setup.
