MRTDL Purpose and Vision The purpose of MRTDL is a collective effort tasked to bring together the expertise and resources of industry, education, government, and local communities to close the gap between business need for highly skilled workers and workers need for high wage, high skilled and sustainable jobs. The vision of MRTDL is to fundamentally transform TDL education within the consortium in order to better meet the needs of employers and TAA-eligible workers, and in the process to develop a replicable model for consortium-based initiatives to address those needs. And ultimately, to drive the economic advancement of the Mississippi region and the nation as a whole. MRTDL Grant Partners

The National Great Rivers Research & Education Center

National Great Rivers Research and Education Center NGRREC s Mission The center's scholars and scientists study the ecology of the big rivers, the workings of the watersheds that feed them, and the ties to the river communities that use them. The National Great Rivers Research and Education Center is a partnership of Lewis and Clark Community College and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

The Jerry F. Costello Na<onal Great Rivers Research and Educa<on Center Confluence Field Sta<on is located near the Melvin Price Locks and Dam and the confluences of the Mississippi with both the Missouri and Illinois rivers.

Why is Nebraska important to water research and management? Aquifers if poured over surface of Nebraska, the water in aquifers would have a depth of 37.9 feet 1 st in Irrigated land harvested and has more regulated water irriga<on than anywhere else More miles of rivers and streams than any other state (4,000 miles) 93% of state s total land areas used in agriculture Nebraska is a na<onal leader in water research The Nebraska Water Center (est. 1964), which is a part of the Robert B. Daugherty Water for Food Ins<tute (10)

Agriculture at Northeast Community College Over 0 students in College s Agriculture programs from across the state & region 540 acre farm on campus Integrated water management concepts in the curriculum Focused courses such as Crops & Irriga<on, Irriga<on & Equipment Variable rate irriga<on prac<ces on the College farm Comparison of dry land and irrigated crops Applied research using soil mapping and water probe technology

We are building on a history of international collaborations.
