2010 Glenwood along with DeKalb County School System received a significant grant from the USDA Rural Utilities Services (RUS) for audio-visual distance learning equipment that operates over the internet. Ideas for Use Includes:

Interactive Real Time Training via Internet 1. Autism 101 2. Visual Strategies 3. Social Skills 4. Social Stories 5. Independent Work 6. Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) 7. Transition 8. Prompting 9. Working with Families 10. Behavior Management 11. FBA and BIP

Online real time Teacher Consultation sessions with Glenwood Staff Potential for Parts of an Assessment Which parts can be done via equipment? (e.g. parent and teacher interviews, classroom observation) Actual interactive training with teacher and student in the room (is this possible?)

Parent-Teacher Consultations Remote participation of classroom instruction during Summer (week long) training Multiple site interactive meetings/conferences

Future Ideas: Pod casts on topic areas for schools and parents Recording of behavior(s) for future consultation/training Parent consultations with Glenwood staff(?) Telemedicine/Telepsychiatry Speech/Language/Occupational Therapy Feeding Problems and other behaviors ABA Services

2011 Glenwood along with Indian Rivers Mental Health Center in Tuscaloosa received another significant grant from the USDA Rural Utilities Services (RUS) for audio-visual telemedicine equipment that operates over the internet to provide tele-autism, tele-psychiatry and Telepsychology services in Bibb and Pickens Counties

Ideas for Use Includes: Mental Health Consultations Mental Health Assessments (partial/full?) Medication Check and Monitoring Psychological Assessments (partial/full?) Behavior Management Consultations One to one Training Sessions Family Therapy/Support Groups Treatment/Discharge Planning Parent/Caregiver Trainings

Final Questions/Needs How can we get the school systems better able to participate in these efforts using the Project ACCESS equipment?
