Before you start: CommInsure Adviser site To quote and apply for annuities with CommInsure using CALQ you will first need access to the CommInsure Adviser site. How to access the CommInsure Adviser site To access the CommInsure Adviser site, open your internet browser and enter the address: https://adviser.comminsure.com.au/. You should see a page similar to the one below: Under the adviser login section at the top right of screen: Enter your user name (usually your CAPS number). Enter your password. If you have forgotten your password, press the reset your password link and enter your details. Be aware that this will only succeed if you enter an email address that matches the one CommInsure has on file. If you don t know your CAPS number, please contact your Retirement Business Development Manager. If you don t receive an email with your new password, please contact the Adviser technical helpdesk on 1800 240 405 and follow the prompts. 3 P a g e
Once you have entered your details, you will see the following screen: Site navigation Top level The top level navigation appears on all pages allowing you to move around the site from any screen that you are on. The main links are: Quoting - prepare quotes for clients using CommInsure s quoting tool, CALQ. Applying - retrieve in progress applications via CommInsure s application tool, WriteAway. Managing - view information about applications you have submitted that are in progress, inforce policies, and client information via CommInsure s management tool, Client Portfolio Management (CPM) (for Life Risk only). Technical hub - find technical resources, training and education materials as well as information on CommInsure products. Forms & Ordering - order or download CommInsure brochures and forms. Sales & Marketing tools - find various tools to help you grow your business. Your account - find commission statements, ongoing service fee information, and password information. 4 P a g e
Quote This section highlights CALQ, the online tool used to generate quotes for all CommInsure products. Once you have a quote, you can provide clients with illustrations to show the income projections of the product. Technical hub This section allows you to view basic information about the various products that we have on offer, as well as some useful Did You Know articles to provide more details on the benefits of the products available. Other information available under the Technical hub includes: The CommInsure Adviser Guide - a comprehensive, ready reference tool providing information for advisers on CommInsure products and underwriting requirements. Strategy papers/statistics key statistical indicators sourced from leading Government bodies and industry providers to assist with your business dealings. Forms & ordering Forms & ordering allows you to download and print documents that you may require for your client s application or to make alterations to your client s information. For example, this can include a change of address, or a change in nominated beneficiaries. Some of these documents can also be ordered and delivered to your office. 5 P a g e
Ordering a PDS To order hard copies of the PDS, click on Forms & Ordering. Select the PDS and enter the quantity amount required then click on Add to order. 6 P a g e
Check your order, then click on Proceed with this order. Confirm all your details, and then click on Submit order. 7 P a g e
Your order details will be shown below and in 24 hours you should receive a confirmation email with a reference number for your order. Once you receive this confirmation, deliveries take approximately 3-4 working days for Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. For all other Metro and Regional areas, delivery could take up to 7-8 working days. 8 P a g e
Sales & marketing tools Need some suggestions for marketing? Sales & marketing tools will provide you with all the information you need to assist you in selling CommInsure products. Here, you will find the most recent product brochures, presentation DVDs, as well as: Lead letters - a great way to connect with existing and potential customers. Use these to personalise and help you tap into new customer bases, or further leverage your existing customer base. Online sales tools - e.g. S.A.M, client engagement email banners. Insurance in self-managed super funds toolkit. Your account Under the your account menu, you can view your commission statements for the past six months, as well as the ongoing service fees section (if applicable). Security settings are also here, where you can amend your password to access the CommInsure Adviser site and your personal details. Other information Life400/Strategi This allows access to annuity policies on the Life400 (L400) system. Portfolio listings can also be requested via this system. News and events Latest news: for all the latest news and updates via the CommInsure Blog. 9 P a g e
Quoting with CALQ CALQ (CommInsure Life Quotes) is the tool used to generate quotes for CommInsure policies. All applications must be accompanied by a CALQ-generated quote to be accepted. To access CALQ, you will need to have access to the CommInsure Adviser site. Instructions on how to generate quotes and applications via the CFS FirstChoice and Custom Solutions platforms can be obtained from the relevant platform. For FirstChoice, please click here to access the Annuities via Platform training module. For Custom Solutions, you will find guides available within the Training guide section of your platform. Once in the site, you will see the following screen: To access CALQ, press prepare a quote with CALQ. This will create a new window: 10 P a g e
The menu bar From the menu bar, you can move between the Life Risk quote, Annuities quote and Search functions. Annuities The sub menu gives you the following options: New - start a new quote. Scenario - start a new quote with the same client details. Save. Illustration - use to show your client various illustrations, such as income projections once you have completed the quote. Download Quote - download and print the quote to send to CommInsure with the application, or give to the client for their information. Notes. Search Search will allow you to retrieve quotes that you have saved for your client even once they are submitted to CommInsure. This allows you to complete some of the information before you meet with your client. Help You can use this option (on the right side of each heading) for further assistance. How to complete a quote To complete a quote you need: Policy Ownership type Client details Investment details Product type 11 P a g e
Policy Ownership type Under the Policy section, select the Ownership type. If a Company, Fund or Trust has been selected, insert the name in the Company field. Client details and Investment details Insert the Client details and Investment details. If a Joint or Individual with Reversionary is selected, complete the Joint/Reversionary Client section. 12 P a g e
Product type In the Products section, select the Investment option from the drop down list and the specific features required. Once this information is entered, you can press the CALC button to generate a quote. The data contained in the quote will be validated against what is required. If there is any mandatory data missing you will be prompted to complete that information before a quote can be generated. You can also print off the quote by selecting Download Quote. Tip: Print the Quote before pressing Apply to proceed to the application. On the right hand side of the screen, you will be able to see the Product Result and other details such as income payments. This information will become visible once you press the CALC button. Where to once the quote is completed? Once the quote is complete and your client is happy to proceed, press Apply. This will take you into the online application. Alternatively, you can complete a paper application and send this to CommInsure. 13 P a g e
Apply online CommInsure s online application tool is integrated with CALQ and aims to assist you in processing annuity applications quickly and easily. To access the online application, you will need to have access to the CommInsure Adviser site. How to complete an online application Once you have completed a CALQ quote and your client is happy to proceed, select the Apply button, which you will find in the bottom right of the CALQ screen. This will transfer the information you have already completed in CALQ to the online application. Tip: Once you ve started the application process and need to alter the quote, you will then need to start the application process again. You will initially see the following screen. Click on Proceed to application. Please note: if you are investing under a Company, Fund or Trust you will need to complete Part B of the Application Form in the PDS. Navigation The menu bar Within the online application, you are able to move from tab to tab using the menu bar. Save feature At the bottom of each page, there is also a save button which allows you to save the information on screen and move to the next set tab. Please note that your information will automatically be saved each time you move to the next screen. Information icons There are a number of information icons in blue throughout the online application which provides further information on a particular field. The below information icon provides further information on the ways in which you can make your investment. The below appears once the information icon is pressed: 15 P a g e
Investor Details tab The client details will be pre-populated from CALQ, saving you time and reducing errors with transposing of data. Please note: all fields that have an asterisk next to the field are mandatory and must be completed. 16 P a g e
Investment Details tab The purchase price and term details will be pre-populated from CALQ. All other fields will need to be manually inputted on this tab. In the event that you have missed something on a page or the information entered is not valid, a red box will appear around the invalid field and a description of the issue directly underneath. Payment Details tab The payment frequency will be pre-populated from CALQ. All other fields will need to be manually input on this tab. 17 P a g e
Beneficiary Details tab Choosing a nominated beneficiary or reversionary beneficiary are optional fields and may be available depending on the type of annuity chosen. If a reversionary beneficiary is selected, this information will be pre-populated from CALQ. If a nominated beneficiary is selected, a drop down box will appear with additional fields to complete. The nominated beneficiary percentages of death benefit must equal 100%. If more than two nominated beneficiaries are selected, please include their details in the Additional comments/instructions section in the Adviser Section tab. 18 P a g e
ID Verification tab You are required to select a valid form of ID for Anti-Money laundering and Counter-terrorism financing purposes. Adviser Service Fee tab The Upfront and Ongoing Adviser Service Fee (if applicable) will be pre-populated from CALQ. If the payment is split between two financial advisers, a drop down box will appear once the box is ticked. The allocation amount must equal 100%. 19 P a g e
TFN Declaration tab The Tax File Number declaration form is required to be completed (if applicable). 20 P a g e

Adviser Section tab The adviser must complete this section before submitting the application. Additional form to complete The Withholding declaration form is required to be downloaded and completed (if applicable). 22 P a g e
Submitting the application Once you have completed all the required information, you can submit the application. Do this by pressing the Create PDF button on the Adviser Section tab. Application form The following application form will be generated for the investor to sign. 23 P a g e
