Our Distinguished Faculty Alan R. Borlack graduated with honors and high distinction from the University of Michigan and from Harvard Law School with distinction. He is a founder and partner at Bailey Borlack Nadelhoffer LLC, where he concentrates his practice in complex commercial litigation. Mr. Borlack has spoken on litigation topics at Lorman Education Services sponsored seminars, before the Chicago Bar Association Corporate Practice Committee, the St. Louis Bar Association Computer Law Committee, and moderated a panel discussion of the Illinois Legal Time s Roundtable on Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution. He has handled cases as diverse as defending against class actions, cases involving covenants not to compete and intellectual property to the constitutional issues of enforcing laws prohibiting lights at Wrigley Field. Mr. Borlack is a life member of the National Registry of Who s Who. Geoffrey L. Gifford is a senior partner and founder of the law firm of Pavalon, Gifford & Laatsch. He is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Missouri and earned his J.D. degree from the University of Michigan. He is a member of the Missouri, Michigan and Illinois bars, as well as the federal trial bar. He has authored many articles in the areas of medical negligence, product liability and demonstrative evidence. Mr. Gifford recently received the Leonard M. Kasserman, a partner and litigation attorney at Corboy & Demetrio, has achieved much success trying cases involving medical malpractice, product liability, premises liability, transportation negligence, automobile negligence, municipal liability and contract disputes. He has also handled many successful appeals both as an appellant and appellee, and has successfully settled cases involving theories as diverse as toxic torts and defamation.
