RE Cloud - Infrastructure as a service Overview RE Cloud provides companies with storage, memory, CPU and bandwidth resources for their own applications, dynamically allocated through a self-service web portal or delivered as part of a managed service. Customers wishing to adopt a self-service model leverage VMware s vcloud Director. The portal enables the allocation of VM resources independently, in any configuration a customer desires or Richardson Eyres may undertake full management of a client s server estate providing the same level of flexibility, but without a customer bearing the management overhead. RE Cloud is a shared service platform. Using VMware s proven, class-leading virtualisation technologies Richardson Eyres abstract the physical resources of servers, storage and networks and allows them to be carved up and allocated to multiple virtual machines (VMs). By adopting a utilisation based model, clients only pay for the resources they consume across the duration of a month. Our cloud enables clients to take advantage of the latest development in server and software technology without the associated capital costs of upgrading on-premise IT hardware systems or provisioning new infrastructure to meet demands. By billing on a utilisation modal this eliminates the unnecessary capacity in over provisioned environments therefore largely increasing our clients ROI across their IT systems. RE Cloud Billing Model - Re Cloud has two billing models, Allocation and Pay-Per-Use. Allocation Model The Allocation model is perfect for clients running production systems on RE Cloud with predictable resource requirements, therefore a business can reap the benefits of cloud services while keeping monthly costs predictable. Pay-per-Use Model This is a utilisation based option for acquiring cloud infrastructure. With this model customers are allocated a set of resources but pay for what they use based on the number of hours those resources are in use.
