Galileo 360 o Learning Galileo 360 o Learning is a learning management system, which you can access via the Internet anytime, anywhere. When you log in to Galileo 360 o Learning you can register for self-paced online training. You can monitor the progress of your learning and chart a path to achieving expert proficiency in the Galileo system. The highly interactive courses provide instruction and practice with real-life scenarios to enhance your skills and improve your productivity. In addition to registering for courses in Galileo 360 o Learning, you can take the courses here and check your progress. Hardware Requirements Because Galileo 360 o Learning is accessed through the Internet, the hardware requirements are minimal. PC with Internet access (Cable modem, DSL or network connectivity preferred) Pentium processor 128 M B RAM VGA-compatible 1024x768 display or higher Internet Explorer 4.01, IE 5.02, ID 5.5, IE 6.0 or Netscape 4.x versions above 4.79 Microsoft Windows 98, ME, NT 4.0 SP6a, 2000 SP2, or XP Plug-ins required Adobe Acrobat reader and Macromedia Flash player Galileo 360 o Learning User Guide Page 4 of 15
Logging in to Galileo 360 o Learning You can access Galileo 360 o Learning through the Galileo Benelux Service Online Portal or use the following steps to log in to Galileo 360 o Learning. 1. On your Web browser go to: http://support.galileo.com/emealms/formslogin_be.asp?/emea/be to access Galileo 360 o Learning. 2. Enter your agency pseudo city code and PIN, select the language and click Login. Refer to Galileo Benelux Service Online Portal to find out how to get a PIN number. 3. Enter your Galileo sign-on without the SONZ prefix, and your initials, and click Continue. For example, if your sign on is SON/ZPV, and your name is Peter Vanden Berg, type PV into the Galileo Sign-on field, and PVB or PV in the Your Initials field. (Note: once you have used initials, i.e. PVB, always use the same ones on subsequent sessions, otherwise you will not be able to access your previous training transcripts.) If you are signing on for the first time, the Welcome to Galileo screen appears. 4. Complete the Welcome to Galileo screen and click Register to reveal the Galileo 360 o Learning Home page. Exploring the Galileo 360 o Learning Home Page The Galileo 360o Learning Home page offers several features including: Callout Feature Description 1 Profile and Preferences Lets you edit your personal profile and customize the Home page. 2 Help Helps you to perform tasks in the learning management system. 3 Learn menu Links you to the training schedule, reports, and more. 4 Location path Pinpoints where you are. Click to navigate to a previous screen. 5 Getting Started Supplies you with links to perform basic tasks and/or lets you search for other courses. 6 Welcome message Updates you with the latest Galileo 360 o Learning news. 7 Course List / Search Provides links to each of the English and French courses. 8 My Favourites Supplies you with links to your favourite courses. 9 Active Training Links you to self-paced online courses that you registered for but have not yet completed. 10 Upcoming Training Not Applicable. Only available for trainer-led courses. 11 Delete My Account Opportunity to remove all of your details from the Galileo 360 o Learning system. Galileo 360 o Learning User Guide Page 7 of 15
Registering for Self-paced Online Courses Use the following steps to register for a self-paced online course. 1. From the Homepage, choose from the list of online courses and click on the course name. The course summary page appears. 2. From the Course Summary Tasks list, click Register. The Registration request screen appears. 3. Currently, there is no charge for the online courses, so leave the Bil To box on None. Click Next. The Registration confirmation screen appears. 4. Do one of the following. To launch the course and start your training course, click Launch. To return to the Home page, click Done. Note: Once you have registered for online courses, they appear in the Active Training section on the Home page. Launching Self-paced Online Courses You can either launch a course at the time you register or at a later time. Use the following steps to launch a self-paced online course from the Home page. 1. From the Active Training section of the Home page, click the green arrow next to the course you want to launch. 2. If the Course Details and Expected Time screens appear, click Next on each one. If you are: Launching the course for the first time, the first screen of the course appears. Relaunching the course, the last screen that you previously accessed appears. Updating Your Profile You can update personal information, such as email address and phone. Use the following steps to update your profile. 1. Click the Profile button on the top right corner of the Home screen. The Profile screen appears. 2. Update any fields you need to complete and click OK. Setting Your Preferences You can customise the way information appears in Galileo 360 o Learning. Use the following steps to set your preferences. 1. Click the Profile button on the top right corner of the Home screen. The Profile screen appears. 2. Click Preferences on the top right side of the screen. The list of preferences appears. 3. Change the time zone, if necessary, to a city in your time zone so that all online classes appear at the time they are taking place in your location. 4. Check the options, such as Getting Started, that you want to appear on your Home page. 5. For each selected option: a) Select the number of links that you want to include. b) Check the View collapsed box if you want to collapse the option. A collapsed view requires you to click the open button to display all links. 6. Click OK. Searching for Courses There are two main ways to search for a course. By list of courses on the Homepage By Preferred language Initially all of the English and French courses available to agents in the Galileo Benelux region are listed on the Home page, so you start with a list of all courses. You can then scroll down this screen in the normal manner, then click on the course you wish to take. Galileo 360 o Learning User Guide Page 11 of 15
As more courses are added to the system, and as German, Spanish and Italian versions are added, there will come a time when there are too many courses to place on one screen. Then you can search for your required course by clicking at the bottom of the Homepage on your preferred language under Galileo System. A list of courses in the chosen language appears. From the list of courses you can: Click Next to see more courses. Click a course name for a Course Summary, to view upcoming courses, or to register for a course. Icons The following is a description of the icons that you may see on a search result. Icon Description Click the plus sign to add a course to My Favourites. Self-paced online course. Navigating Self-paced Online Courses The self-paced course interface includes the following features. Feature Title bar Navigation Panel Study Aids Description Includes topic name. Enables you to quickly access any lesson on a course. Let you interact with the course by taking notes, highlighting text, bookmarking a topic, and adding links to Web pages. Progress Glossary Exit Alows you to check the percentage of the course you ve completed. You can then click Progress to jump to a different topic in the course. Gives definitions for terms discussed in the course. You can also click the red underlined words in the text to see the definition. Allows you to exit the course and check your progress. Click the Next button to see the next step on the topic you are viewing, or Previous to go back. If no Next or Previous buttons appear on the page, use the course forward and course back arrows to move forward or back Galileo 360 o Learning User Guide Page 14 of 15
