Signal Radio s Star Search 2015 Newcastle-under-Lyme College recently opened its doors to a 5.5 million pound Performing Arts Centre at the Knutton Lane campus in Staffordshire. To celebrate the College has teamed up with Signal Radio to search for local stars in the Signal Stars 2015 campaign. Anyone aged 11-16 from the Staffordshire and Cheshire area can enter and must be a singer, dancer, actor or musician. Students wishing to enter will need to upload a video or audio file to Signal Radio s website page showcasing their talent. The video or audio doesn t have to be professionally recorded as long as the audio is clear and should be no longer than two minutes in length. To enter upload at www.signal1.co.uk/starsearch Students can upload their entries now. The winner will receive a host of prizes which includes 12 months access to the College s state-of-the-art Performing Arts Centre Facilities (PAC).** The overall winner will also receive 12 months access to the College s state-of-the-art PAC for their school.* Five entries will be shortlisted and invited to perform at the Grand Finale held at the Performing Arts Centre on Friday 13 th November 2015. There will be a further five entries selected to form the Wild Card public vote. Members of the public will be able to vote for their favourite Wild Card act during the specified times. The winning Wild Card act is the one that receives the most public votes and will get a place at the Grand Finale, along with the other five finalists making six overall finalists. PRIZE DETAILS Individual winner prize - 500 cash^, a professional recording session or show reel produced by NULC, 12-months access to the state-of-the-art facilities at the PAC*, a winner s interview hosted at Signal 1 and winning performance showcased on NULC.ac.uk. The individual winner will also receive a special prize for their school in addition to their own personal prizes which is 12-months access to the state-of-the-art facilities at the PAC**. Signal Radio and NULC will showcase the winner and four finalists on their website and social media sites. Signal will cover the final through on air links and social media. The runner up will receive A professional recording session or show reel produced by NULC. THE GRAND FINALE The Grand Finale will take place at Newcastle-under-Lyme College s Performing Arts Centre on Friday 13 th November 2015 from 6pm 8.15pm. The event will be hosted by Signal Radio s Chris Bovaird. RULES The following rules ( Rules ) together with UTV Media ("UTV Media") general and competition terms and conditions (the Terms and Conditions ) (which can be found at www.signal1.co.uk/starsearch apply to the Signal s Star Search radio competition ("the Competition") which will run on the following dates 1 st June 2015.Friday 23rd October The "Radio Station" is Signal 1. Anyone who enters the Competition (an Entrant ) will be deemed to have understood these Rules along with the Terms and Conditions and will be bound by them. The Terms and Conditions are available on request from the Radio Station. 1) Details of the Competition Signal 1 1.1 To enter the competition an entrant must a. Register via the website signal1.co.uk by submitting an mp3 up to 10mb or a YouTube/vevo link to view the video submission. b. Registration for competition ends Friday 23rd October at 17:30 hours. c. Entrants must be aged between 11-16 years of age. d. Entrants must live within the transmission area of Signal 1 e. Videos do not need to be professionally recorded and can be recorded and uploaded using a smart phone or tablet. f. You must upload your video no later than Friday 23 rd October 2015. Entries uploaded after this date will not be considered. g. There will be five finalists who will be contacted by Friday 30 th October and a further five finalists, one of whom will be then chosen by the public to become the wild card, sixth finalist. h. Age: In order to apply for the Competition, you must be at least 11 (Eleven) years of age on 1 st June TH 2015 ( the Minimum Age ). All Entrants who meet the Minimum Age, Minor Entrants: All Entrants who meet the Minimum Age requirement but are younger than 18 (eighteen) years of age at the time of entering the competition ( Minor Entrant ) must obtain the consent of a parent / legal guardian. i. Entry Close Date: The Organisers reserve the right to suspend the entry process at any time 1.2 Prize Details A. No change given, no alternative prize. Access days and times to use the PAC facilities will be subject to availability and agreement with the Performing Arts Centre manager. F. The winning school will receive *50 hours access over a 12 month period subject to availability and pre-booking with the Performing Arts Centre manager. G. Individual winner will receive 30 hours access over a 12 month period subject to availability and pre-booking with the Performing Arts Centre manager. H. Contestants must be available to perform if selected at the Finale event at Newcastle under Lyme s Performance Arts Centre on Friday 13 th November 2015 between 6:00pm 8:15pm I.
