The Company Daniel Advogados is a Brazilian law firm founded in 1958 and specializing in Intellectual property Management. The firm has around 150 employees in Rio de Janeiro and São Paolo. And works with nearly 100 associates worldwide. The Starting Point Before adopting Habber Legal Services Platform, Daniel Advogados had a legacy system called DANSPI (Daniel Sistema Propriedade Intelectual) which needed to be kept because it contains valuable historic information on services done to customers. DANSPI provided Quality Assurance tools, in form of Service Level Agreement (SLA) compliance metrics. DANSPI informed of success rate on cases taken to court and enabled employee bonus based of performance metrics. Daniel Advogados also had a specification of business processes done by Deloitte. This processes specification was paper based and it alone created few synergies for the company. The firm wanted to leverage its existing data and customer base with more efficient and reliable process management.
The Plan The Tool Daniel Advogados considered the position of WebSphere Lombardi Edition on Gartner s Magic Quadrant. The cost of licenses plus deployment. The time needed to go live. The complexity of the change. The training and usability for users and the expected return of investment. The Hot Spots The firm identified as key areas needing improvement : Redundant processes Frequent bottlenecks Employees with insufficient information Lack of global vision of status for large customers Plenty of error prone manual processes Suboptimal use of resources The Goals D.A. management decided that the new BPM should : Qualify service requests with automatic opening of service tickets. Automatically route service requests. Do automatic scheduling and notifications for predefined processes. Provide real-time monitoring of the operation. Inform KPI for service execution standards. Allow greater control of delinquent customers. Track costs, SLA, and timesheets. Automate billing. Systematize and monitor information relevant for customers coming from publishing industry. Suggest cross-sell opportunities and improve leads follow-up.
The Implementation The Scheduling Daniel Advogados wanted the solution to go live in less than six months from the signature of the contract with Habber Tec. 80 users will start using the first release and 70 more will we trained to use it within one year. Each process was modelled with WebSphere Lombardi and validated by users and line managers. The Modelling Press Clipping Process New trademark registration process E-Mail and RFI routing process Trademark maintenance process Service Monitoring Process
The Infrastructure IT determined that three environments will be used: development, testing and production. All running on Windows Server 64 bits. Development and Testing environments for WebSphere Lombardi will run on Dual Core Intel servers with 4GB RAM and 60Gb HDD. Production Environment will run on Quad Core Intel servers with 8Gb RAM and 60Gb HDD. Oracle 11g 64 bit database will be used for storage running on a Dual Core Intel Server with 8Gb RAM and 100Gb HDD. Architecture of the solution

Agreed on an annual licenses fee of R$ 50,000 ( 12,500) and hired professional maintenance services for R$ 6,000 ( 1,600) per month.
