Seamless adaptive multi-cloud management of service-based applications Open solution brings Interoperability & Portability to PaaS The future of Cloud computing: Elasticity, Legacy Support, Interoperability and Quality of Service Future Internet Assembly (FIA) Athens, Tuesday, 18 Mar Francesco D andria, Atos francesco.dandria@atos.net

To the Clouds and Beyond Cloud Global market expected to grow and will reach more customers IaaS & PaaS, Cloud Storage markets expected to grow

Cloud Ecosystem SaaS, PaaS, IaaS Storage, etc, etc etc Lock-In Multi-Cloud Interoperability Agility for Businesses Heterogeneity & Fragmentation of Commercial & Open Source Monitoring Automation Vendor Selection Portability Cloud is a revolution: reduces time-to-market and provides on-demand scalability at a low cost.

Many private & public Clouds solutions have emerged during the last years offering a range of different technologies each suited for particular types of applications. Application Platform Infrastructure Cloud solutions lock customers in a single platform preventing the portability of data and software Application Portability Cross-platform Service Deployment Service Lifecycle Management Interoperability and portability are a few of the main challenges to adoption of Cloud Computing

SeaClouds aims to solve the problem caused by the current lack of standardization in cloud, which pushes cloud customers to end up locked-in with the chosen cloud provider(s).

Project title Seamless adaptive multi-cloud management of service-based applications Project number 610531 Duration October 2013 February 2016 Total cost/ec contribution 2,99 M / 2.19 M Project coordinator Francesco D Andria, ATOS Spain SA, francesco.dandria@atos.net Partners ATOS SPAIN SA UNIVERSIDAD DE MALAGA UNIVERSITA DI PISA POLITECNICO DI MILANO CLOUDSOFT CORPORATION LIMITED NUROGAMES GMBH Website: www.seaclouds-project.eu

SeaClouds Agility After Deployment SeaClouds solution is a open, generic and interoperable framework (RA & RI) based on standards that provides: IDE to design and manage complex cloud-enabled orchestration over multi and heterogeneous Clouds; Supporting the design of the clomplex application topology over Multi Clouds best-fit Clouds leveraging the Functional and Non-Functional requirements of the App Governing the Complex app at runtime over Multi Clouds(REST APIs) Open Source, Apache 2.0 fromtheverybeginningona Public repository

SeaClouds Agility After Deployment enables a unified and standardized way to gather and monitor metrics from underlying providers to have a detailed picture of cloud applications performance at runtime diversity of metrics and API (dissimilar provider with different metrics with the same name) A range of Standardized and Unified metrics of different types (low level, container level, app level, etc) based on disparate underlying cloud providers that allows the runtime monitoring of deployed application empowers developer to compare, contrast, test brings a unique application based user-defined applications policies monitoring allows management of underlying providers based on informed decisions of SLA compliance on multi-cloud infrastructuresto assure quality of service on cloud applications built using SeaCloudsIDE and framework.

OASIS TOSCA (Topology and Orchestration Specification for Cloud Applications) TOSCA formally describes the topology and orchestration of IT services, including their structures, properties, and behaviours Motivations Cloud Service Eco-system Cross-platform Service Deployment OASIS CAMP (Cloud Application Management for Platforms) CAMP produces a generic application and platform management API that is language, framework, and platform neutral Management of apps & their use of the Platform Upload, Manage lifecycle, Enable Monitoring Motivations Cloud Lifecycle Management Cloud Service Portability Unified Cloud Service management API
