How Parents Use Single Sign On and New PowerSchool Features
Single Sign On (SSO) What is Single Sign On? Single Sign On (SSO) is a system that allows parents to use one username and password to access all of their students information, grades, and attendance. Replaces the current Parent ID & Parent Password What benefits does it have? Access to multiple students with one login Personalized account for each parent and guardian (i.e., their own username & password) Ability for parents/guardians to retrieve their own username and password information. Students can be linked to more than one accounts (i.e., Mom, Dad, Grandma, Grandpa, etc.)
Single Sign On (SSO) How does it work? Changes from our current system Single Sign-On changes the way in which parents/guardians access their students academic records using the PowerSchool Parent Portal. Parents/Guardians will be re-issued an Access ID & Access Password. (Previously known as Parent ID & Parent Password.) The Access ID & Access Password are used to link students to their accounts. Students will be issued their own username and passwords. These are separate from the parent/guardian account. What do parents need? An email address The Access ID & Access Password
How to Create an Account Obtain an Access ID & Access Password Go to the PowerSchool website http://weston.powerschool.com Click on the button Create Account Enter your [parent/guardian] information Name Email Address Desired Username Password Enter the student information Name Access ID Access Password Relationship

How to Create an Account Enter your information such as First Name, Last Name, Email Address. Choose a username and password.
How to Create an Account Enter your students information, (student name, access ID, access password), and choose a relationship to the student. Once complete click Enter
PowerSchool Parent Portal You will receive a message that your account has been created. You can now login with the information you selected during the account creation process.

PowerSchool Parent Portal The names of any students linked to your account will appear in the top left of the welcome page. Select the name of the student you would like to view the attendance, grades, or other information on.
Navigation Grades and Attendance This screen contains information about your student s classes for the school year, grades and attendance. Exp refers to the period and days the class meets. Attendance is displayed for the past 2 weeks for each class. Attendance codes can be found at the bottom of the page. By clicking on the grades, detailed data will be displayed. By clicking on the number of absences or tardies, detailed for each date will be shown.
Navigation Attendance History This screen contains detailed attendance information for the current year.
Navigation Teacher Comments The Teacher Comments area will display messages to you from your student s teacher(s).
Navigation School Bulletin This screen allows you to see the school bulletin.
Navigation Account Preferences This page allows you to modify account information such as: Your Name Your Username Your Password Your Email Address Students that are linked to your account This page is only available to parents/guardians.
Navigation Demographic Change This page allows you to update your student information form electronically.
Demographic Change Once your information is updated, click submit. The school office will be notified of changes.
Demographic Change The following items are required for the demographic change A/K/A Student Information Form Student Demographic Information Student Name Home Address Mailing Address Home Phone Date of Birth Gender Grade Single-Parent Household Status Medical Information Physician Name & Phone # Medical Alert Allergies Any special medical considerations Acceptable Use Polices (AUP) Contact Info Up to two (2) parent/guardian contacts Up to two (2) Emergency Contacts Both sets of contact require the following information: Name Relationship to child Phone (Home, Work, and/or Cell) Address Employer Email Address Custody/Live with Status
A Few Things to Remember You need your child s Access ID and Password letter to create your account. You can get a copy of this letter from your child s school. Do not share your Username, Password, Access ID, or Access Password. Students can have more than one parent/guardian account. Once you are done with your session, remember to log out.
What if I forgot my password or username? You can reset your information. From the login page, there is a link to reset your information.
