Developing a regional team currently home based. New member of staff on probation has just had supervision, also had an informal supervision session she asked for. Says she will be having monthly supervision. How many staff have had all of their mandatory training in the last 12 months? All staff have had mandatory training as induction. Two new staff spoken too had training and two weeks supernumerary work to get to know the unit and residents. Not able to ascertain that the staff who require training have received it. C4 Clinical Governance local plans Points of positive assurance 2. Staff development: all new staff receive an induction at the start of their employment, which must be completed before the end of the probation period. Gaps in assurance or concerns Need assurance on the whole process and wider issues including clinical governance group membership. Additional Comments The organisation should ensure all staff working in service user areas, including ancillary staff, have full training in physical interventions. The organisation should consider providing accredited autism training for staff. Final decision and initial inspection plan Specific issues to be explored, evidence to be sought C9 Review implementation of recruitment and check training records and appraise supervision arrangements. C2 Safeguarding, is there a policy, reporting and training? M35 The establishment does not use seclusion but uses de-escalation and physical intervention.
