GLOBAL EMPLOYER BRAND

The Challenge EMC asked us to develop a global employer brand, as groundbreaking as their interactive recruitment platform. It needed to reflect their position at the leading edge of Big Data, Cloud Computing and IT security. It needed to communicate how EMC is impacting the world. And it needed to resonate with everyone from students and salespeople, to MBAs and skilled technologists.

The Solution The strapline we developed Lead me to EMC complemented their new corporate position, and spurred their audience to find out more through EMC s website, North America US$93.6 billion Latin America US$1.6 billion Asia-Pacific US$23.2 billion From there, we created a full suite of creative work. It was designed to tell EMC s story how their technology was having a major effect on medical advancements, historical record keeping, and scientific research. Through case studies, we showed the world how EMC s success was helping the world to evolve. Everything in the toolkit gave credence to EMC s overall message this is an organization built on insight. Middle East US$22.8 billion Europe US$24.7 billion I WANT TO CREATE TRUSTED IT THAT WILL KEEP THE WHEELS OF BUSINESS TURNING Information is the lifeblood of many organizations today. And with the constant evolution of technologies like smart phones, tablets and on-demand internet connectivity, protecting that information has become a top priority. So much so that, over the next ten years, the global cyber security market is set to grow to more than $170 billion, with some $94 million of that spent in the US and $6 billion by the UK government alone. By safeguarding our customers from cyber attacks, technical outages and changing legislation, EMC trusted IT is helping to realize more of information s potential, more of the time. It s just one of the ways we re trying to change the world for the better. To find out more and discover where you fit in, head for. Monitor its pulse? Make full use of the information it generates to improve life for the people who live there? In Rio de Janeiro, our Big Data technology is helping the city s authorities do just that; analyze real time weather, traffic and emergency service response data, then combine it with the power of social media to predict potential problems and keep the city and its 6.4 million people flowing freely. And with 96% of passenger traffic now concentrated on the roads, the need to keep Rio moving has never been more important. This is just one of the ways we re using Big Data to make the world work better. To find out more and how you could be part of it, head for. African American/ Black 8.77% in 2010 I WANT TO TAKE MY MILITARY EXPERIENCE TO THE CLOUD Launched in March 2011, the 100,000 Jobs Mission has a goal of hiring 100,000 military veterans by 2020. At EMC, we re extremely proud of our part in that mission. Why? Because almost 248,000 Active Duty Officers are currently serving their country. And when their service comes to an end, we believe they deserve more than the nation s gratitude. They deserve the chance to lead successful and productive lives. Already, more than 77,000 veterans hired through the Mission are applying their diverse talents to a range of new and exciting careers. And of course, they re not the only ones to benefit. The rich variety of knowledge and experience they bring makes organizations like EMC stronger as well. To find out more and discover where you fit in, head for. At EMC, we re taking steps to redress this imbalance by supporting a wide range of employee networks and setting up numerous diversity councils across the organization. Our efforts have been recognized with a host of industry awards. And importantly, they ve made EMC an even more inspiring place to work. But fostering a diverse workforce is just one of the things we re doing to develop a culture of inclusion and innovation. To find out more and discover where you fit in, head for. Russian USA Federation India 24.1 12.7 63.0 I WANT TO USE CLOUD COMPUTING TO FURTHER SCIENTIFIC DISCOVERY The field of scientific research is often the first to benefit from advances in computing technology. And the advent of cloud computing has opened up a whole new world of possibilities. EMC cloud technology provides a powerful, scalable, cost-efficient infrastructure for massive data analysis and visualization, giving scientists from across the globe a more effective way to pool their knowledge and speed up the discovery process. It s great news for the more than 371 million people affected by diabetes. This is just one of the ways we re using cloud technology to change our world for the better. In China, one in three management positions are now held by women. And in France, they re setting their sights even higher with new legislation that aims to put 40% of corporate directorships in the hands of women by 2017. In terms of business qualifications, the balance is shifting too over a third of full time MBA course applications are now made by women. But there s still a long way to go. That s why, here at EMC, we re going to extraordinary lengths to support women particularly new and expectant mothers in the workplace. On-site childcare, specialist maternity benefits advice and transition workshops all help them to balance a successful career with the challenges of raising a family. But initiatives like these are just part of a culture of inclusion and innovation that s designed to bring out the best in everyone at EMC. To find out more and discover where you fit in, head for. The Results The campaign generated 65,000 student responses, and 700,000 unique global enquiries on EMC Me. They re impressive numbers but the campaign did much more than generate quality responses. It also changed the way recruiters spoke about EMC, and sparked a noticeable improvement in how well candidates understood EMC and its objectives.
