Lifestyle Design Worksheet 1. What is your Definite Major Purpose (DMP)? Honestly this is the most important thing you can figure out, not only for business, but for your personal life. All of your decisions will be very simple once you know what your Definite Major Purpose is. Here are some questions to help you design your DMP. Why am I here? What is the top purpose for my life? What fulfills me above all other things? Here are a couple of examples of DMPs. Sterling s DMP 1. Freedom o Freedom to live life on my own terms (money makes this possible) o Freedom of location o Freedom of making my own schedule (I work as much or as little as I want) o Freedom of thoughts and ideas 2. Fulfillment o Constant learning o Teaching others o Be a prolific creator of my work o Create legacy 3. Inspiration o Making a difference in the quality of human existence o Changing others lives with what I say and do 4. Recognition o To be world renowned as a thought leader (celebrity)
o To have other thought leaders and celebrities of all types want to spend time learning from me Jay s DMP 1. Freedom o Freedom to live wherever I want in the world o Freedom to have a family and lots of time with them o Freedom to leave my business for awhile and have it continuing operating o Control of my time to allow me to set my own hours o Freedom from communication overload (email, cell phone, etc.). I choose when and how I am contacted. 2. Fulfillment o Continually teach others to help them find freedom and fulfillment in their own lives o Continually learn new things and progress in my abilities and knowledge o Variety in the activities that I pursue o Have a means for creative output o Build healthy and happy relationships with my friends, family and colleagues o o Have integrity in everything that I do Meet and associate with passionate and interesting people who are also pursuing their dreams 3. Recognition o Be seen as a foremost expert in my field o Have a loyal community of customers that benefit from and trust the value that I offer to them
2. Why do you want an internet business? Be very clear on the why. It s important to be certain why you re doing it during the challenging times. It s also good to know exactly why you want something and what your goal is. Examples: To have more time with my family To earn in an extra $1000 per month to pay for my child s private schooling To escape the 9-5 and work from home To achieve my DMP To have the freedom of location 3. How many hours per week would you like to work on your business by the end of the first year? For example, if you want to be down to 10 hours per week while still making more than your current job, put that! 4. What would you like your monthly income to be at the end of the first year in business? 5. Design your business based on the lifestyle you want
Do you want employees? Would you rather have virtual assistants? Do you want an office? Do you want a home office? Do you want only digitally delivered products? Do you want physical products that you ship? Will you fulfill and ship them yourself or use a fulfillment company? Or do you want both? 6. The Million Dollar Question If you had a million dollars in the bank tomorrow, how would your life change? What would you do differently in life? What are three things you would buy in the next year? What are three things you would want to accomplish in the next year? This helps you decide what kinds of activities you want to work towards as you make more money and free up more time. 7. What is the first thing you would like to pay for with your internet business? Examples: A family vacation A new house Private schooling for your kids Eat out more often
8. What are three things that you want to do before you die? Imagine that you know you re reaching the end of your life. What are three things that you would be sad to realize that you didn t do and wished you had? It s good to have a specific idea of what you are working for. You want rewards to look forward to. Simply telling yourself that you will make more money is not sufficient. These are just a few questions to get yourself to think about really setting up your mindset to know what the target and goal is for doing an internet business.
