REQUIREMENTS All health occupations programs require a completed criminal background/care-giver background check as well as a background information disclosure form. This is a requirement by ALL clinical agencies. Each agency has specific requirements The best advice-keep a clean record!!

CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK All clinical agencies have the right to deny student placement in clinical Each agency differs in what they deem acceptable, so there is no standardization. Students are informed, based on their background check, whether or not clinical placement is an option.

NURSING ASSISTANT PROGRAM Prepares students for employment as entry level nursing assistants in: nursing homes hospitals home health community based residential facilities assisted living facilities private duty

NURSING ASSISTANT PROGRAM 3 credits 120 hour certificate program 80 hours of lecture/lab 40 hours at clinical site Must be 16 years of age to enroll Name placed on Wisconsin Nurse Aide Registry upon successful completion

NURSING ASSISTANT PROGRAM Offered days, evenings, on campus and off campus sites Nursing Assistant is a pre-requisite for the ADN, PN, and other health occupation programs such as Radiography Technician.

MEDICATION AIDE COURSE This course is designed to train Nursing Assistants to administer medications in a long-term care setting.

MEDICAL ASSISTANT PROGRAM Medical assistants are employed in a variety of health care settings, primarily ambulatory care. Under the direction of licensed health care professionals, medical assistants perform front office procedures, assist the physician with patient procedures, and perform elementary laboratory procedures.

PRACTICAL NURSING PROGRAM The PN Program prepares students with the skills essential to providing basic nursing care in a variety of settings. The PN works under the supervision of an RN. Students are able to take their LPN licensure exam after completing the first year of the nursing program.

PRACTICAL NURSING PROGRAM 36 credit Technical Diploma Program (first year of nursing program if enrolled in Associate Degree Graduates are eligible to write the National Council of State Board Licensure Examination to become a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or continue on, and LPNs have the flexibility to later bridge to the Associate Degree Nursing Program if they stop out

ASSOCIATE DEGREE NURSING PROGRAM Prepares beginning practitioners to be members of the health care team. Graduates must demonstrate critical thinking, clinical judgment, and clinical competence.

ASSOCIATE DEGREE NURSING PROGRAM 70 credit Associate Degree Approved by the Wisconsin State Board of Nursing Accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) Graduates eligible to take the National Council of State Boards of Nursing Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN)

ASSOCIATE DEGREE NURSING PROGRAM Pre-requisites: Completion of Nursing Assistant Course Chemistry with a grade of C or better NLN pre-test (composite score of 100 or better) All students interested in entering the Nursing Program are required to meet with the Health Occupations Academic Advisor to discuss these and other program requirements Caregiver background check

PHLEBOTOMY 1 semester Certification Courses include Healthcare Customer Service, Medical Terminology, Human Body in Health and disease, Basic Lab Skills, Phlebotomy, and Phlebotomy Clinical Can ladder into Clinical Lab Tech (associate degree, with a ladder to bachelor s degree)

CLINICAL LAB TECH (CLT) Associate Degree program Shared with NTC (Wausau) General Education credits at Nicolet Lab and CLT specific courses at NTC Clinical in Nicolet district This program will ladder into Medical Lab Technican Program (UWSP)

RADIOGRAPHY PROGRAM Prepares students for a career in diagnostic radiology (x-rays) as a radiographer. The Radiography Program is a shared program with Lakeshore Technical College (LTC).

RADIOGRAPHY PROGRAM 70 credit Associate Degree Fully accredited program Graduates are eligible to take the entry-level certification examination administered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)

RADIOGRAPHY PROGRAM Program is presented using interactive television (ITV) to distant sites, where students will also have both their lab instruction and clinical experience. There will be day, evening, weekend and summer clinical experiences. Students work with Nicolet advisor but apply directly to Lakeshore Technical College (host program)

RADIOGRAPHY PROGRAM Pre-requisites: graduation for high school or equivalent completion of Algebra, Chemistry, Medical Terminology, and General Anatomy & Physiology with a grade of C or better 8 hours observation ( shadowing )in a radiology department (4 hours at one of the program s clinical settings) are required for program entry

SURGICAL TECHNOLOGIST The surgical technologist is an integral member of the health care team. Surg Tech provides patient care before, during, and after surgery, having primary responsibilities for maintaining sterile field and handling surgical instruments to the surgeon.

SURGICAL TECHNOLOGIST 39 credit Technical Diploma Shared with Northcentral Technical College Program started in January 2003 This program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP)

SURGICAL TECHNOLOGIST Courses are offered ITV with clinical and lab sessions here at Nicolet College A shadowing experience is also required. This is a three semester full-time program. Clinical Internship over the summer session.

PHARMACY TECHNICIAN The pharmacy technician provides assistance to the pharmacist in a variety of technical tasks involving the packaging, distribution, compounding, labeling and recording or drugs. The Pharmacy Technician program trains students for the roles of supportive personnel for hospital and community pharmacies.
