To All the Regional Managers & All the Auction Superintendents in A.P Sub:2012-13 crop season Insurance Policy for Growers (GPA) and Barns Stocks and Allied Structures by the Oriental Insurance Co.Ltd., Guntur Reg. *^*^* Reference to the subject cited, it is to inform that for 2012-13 crop season, the Oriental Insurance Co.Ltd., Divisional Office-II, Guntur Branch who has quoted lowest premium was awarded the work for providing Insurance coverage for registered growers under Group Personal Accident Policy and for tobacco barns, stocks & allied structures under the standard Fire and Allied Perils Policy commencing from 16.11.12. ::2:: Zone III Covers: West Godavari, Krishna, Khammam, & Karimnagar Districts. Zone IV Covers: East Godavari, Guntur Prakasam, Rayagada (Orissa State), Gadchoroli (Maharashtra State) & Sri Pottisriramulu Nellore Districts. III. The salient features of the policy are as under: Group Personal Accident (GPA) policy for Growers: a). Sum assured : Rs. 1.00 Lakh b). Period of Insurance: 1 year from the date of receipt of premium including Service Tax. c). Risks/Perils covered: i. Death ii. Permanent total Disablement iii. Loss of limbs & or Eyes iv. Permanent partial Disablement v. Medical expenses to an extent of 25% of Admissible claim. d). Additional Special Benefits: i. Children Education Fund - Rs. 5,000/- maximum ii. Dead body carrying charges - Rs. 1,000/- maximum iii. Medical Expenses- to an extent of 25% of admissible claim. e). Terms & Conditions: i. Time limit for submission of claims 14 days ii. Documents required for following are mandatory. Death: a). Immediate intimation (within 24 hrs) b). Certified copy of police FIR c). Certified copy of Post Mortem Report d). Certified copy of Panchanama e). Legal Heir Certificate Permanent Total Disablement & partial disablement: Immediate intimation CC of Police FIR Government Medical Board Certificate for Disability Medical Treatment Certificates
:: 3 :: Tobacco barns, stocks & allied structures: 1. Risks/Perils offered as per Standard Fire & Special Perils Policy as under a) Fire b) Lightning c) Explosion/Implosion d) Aircraft damage e) Riot, Strike & Malicious Damage f) Storm, Cyclone, Flood & Inundation g) Impact damage by Rail/Road vehicle h) Subsidence, Landslide including Rockslide i) Bursting & Overflowing of water tanks j) Missile testing operations k) Leakage from sprinkler installations l) Bush fire m) Earthquake as an add on peril NB: i) Sudden collapse of the barn should result from any of the above referred perils. ii) Wind/Gale damage should fit into STFI (Storm, Cyclone etc) clause for the claims to become admissible. 2. Period of insurance: As mentioned at Para II 3. Sum assured: 5.40 lakhs in total per barn/stocks/ 4. Deductions: Policy Excess i. 5% of the claim subject to minimum of Rs. 10,000/- per claim ii. Other deductions like Salvage, under Insurance & Depreciation will be as per Policy and Surveyor s assessment.
::4:: 5. Reinstatement Basis Polices will be issued with the Reinstatement Value Clause which inter-alia envisages Physical Repair of the Damaged Structure with new material within 6 month from the date of loss and the claim will not be settled until the repairs are over and certified by M/s Oriental Insurance Company s Surveyor. 6. The Insurance Agency agreed to provide extra coverage facility for enhanced assured sum amounts for items (Item-II) by charging additional premium amounts as per policy provisions. IV. Period of intimation of policy coverage for stocks/allied structures: While the period of coverage for barn structure is 1 year, the period of coverage for other components (stocks/allied structures) is for a period of 5 to 7 months, as per operational schedules applicable to individual platforms. Hence, all the Auction Superintendents are required to immediately inform the schedules/period coverage for stocks & allied structures at different stages to the insurance agency without fail, as claims arising out of occurrences outside the period of schedule will not be entertained for claim settlement. V. Payment/Remittance of Premium Amounts: Basing on the No. of willingness farmers/barns payments of premiums are to be remitted directly by the Auction Platforms to the Insurance Company on the name of The Oriental Insurance Company Limited, by DDs payable at Guntur along with grower/barn wise details as per procedure by e-mail followed by hard copy as usual. Barns shall be insured in terms of a full unit. Insurance proposals for fraction of barns shall be avoided.

All Auction Superintendents directed to take follow-up action immediately and inform the policy conditions to the Growers/ Grower Associations and remit the premium amounts on the basis of willing growers and barns registered for 2012-13 season.
