Page 2 PURPOSE The purpose of this document is to provide the steps needed to install and deploy SmartReceipt s software on point-of-sale (POS) terminals using Windows named printers. Requirements The POS terminal and printer configuration meet SmartReceipt s requirements for using the Windows named printing installer. Recommended minimum system requirements are listed below. Recommended Minimum System Requirements System Operating System System Memory Hard Drive Space Internet Connection Before installing please ensure that: The POS terminal has Internet connectivity. Requirement Windows XP 128 MB RAM 50 MB 768 kbps SmartReceipt has provided an email address and password to license the software. Please contact SmartReceipt at 866-688-7428 with questions.

Prior to installation, consult the Point-of-Sale Appendix for the POS in which SmartReceipt is being installed on. POS Appendices can be found at http://install.receipt.com/profile_appendix. Plug in the USB flash drive that contains the SmartReceipt Installer to the POS or download the installer from https://install.receipt.com/files/smartreceipt_4.0.exe. 1. Double-click smartreceipt_4.0.exe. Click Run and then Install to begin the installation. 2. After the installation is complete, the SmartReceipt user interface will open automatically. Click the field entitled Auth Code. Type in the authorization code provided by SmartReceipt. Click Save Auth Code and then OK (See Figure 1). 801935()( 3. Click on the Configuration tab at the top. 4. Click on the drop down entitled Select the Windows Printer Name and select the name 1 of the receipt printer. (See Figure 2). 5. Click on the drop down entitled Printer Brand & Model and select the model 2 of the receipt printer. Click Save. (See Figure 2). " The name of the receipt printer can be found by clicking Start > Settings > Printers & Faxes. # This is generally found on a label on the printer. For Epson printers, this label is found on the right hand side of the receipt printer. For some models this label may be on the bottom of the receipt printer.
Page 4 801935(:( 6. Click on the Tools tab. Click License Software (See Figure 3). 7. Enter the email address and password provided by SmartReceipt and click License Software. 801935(;( Note: The SmartReceipt Configuration window can now be closed.
Page 5 SECTION 2 - Configuring the POS terminal s printer The POS terminal will need to be configured to print to the SmartReceipt Virtual Printer, which is automatically created when SmartReceipt is installed. Your POS is currently configured to print to the name of the Windows printer you are using (should be the same as section 1, step 4 above). 801935(<( For example, referencing figure 4 above, the name of the Windows printer that the POS is configured to is Generic / Text Only. You will need to modify the POS Software and select SmartReceipt Virtual Printer. Please refer to the Installation Appendix for your specific Point-of-Sale. POS Appendices can be found at http://install.receipt.com/profile_appendix. NEXT STEPS: SmartReceipts will print once content has been loaded to the receipt printer and the device has been activated. In some instances, your SmartReceipt account manager will set the device to automatically activate. Once activated, please allow up to 5 minutes for receipt content to load. Contact a SmartReceipt technician at (866) 688-7428 to activate the device.
