The Brammer story 1950 1960 1970 1980 1990 1920 1950s 1960s 1970s 1980s H. Brammer and Company Limited was founded with 3,000 of capital, by Harry Brammer. Shares were offered to the public in 1954 and the company grows to over 150 employees. Brammer belting was being sold as far afield as Fiji. The Brammer group of companies employs 700 people and trades in more than sixty overseas markets. In 1969, Brammer acquires Bearing Service Limited (BSL). The company name changes to Brammer plc and there are now 1,475 employees. Brammer s annual profits rise to over 2 million by 1975. Expansion continues in the 1980s with significant acquisitions. In 1984, the Brammer Group earnings pushed through the 10 million barrier. 8

Lineair Customer feedback It was important to reduce the number of invoices we received each month, plus the time it was taking to process them all. Before Brammer helped us consolidate their invoicing, we were receiving 64 invoices a month at 23 per invoice, adding up to more than 17.000 in 12 months. We re now receiving just one invoice each month and, all together, consolidation has slashed a massive 35.000 from our invoicing costs. Our blower fans used V-belt drives, but Brammer encouraged us to convert to Gates PolyChain drives to save both maintenance and energy costs. We did, and because PolyChain is maintenance-free over three years and more efficient, we ve enjoyed savings totalling over 8.000. That s savings in energy and maintenance due to the longer service life of PolyChain drives. - Carillion When we wanted to source parts for test cell probes in this case 30 lengths of 4m steel cable we were anticipating having to pay some 230 for each length. Brammer, by suggesting and then sourcing non-oem cable, brought the cost down, a significant saving of over 3.500.
