Welcome: We are quiet for a while, remembering that God is with us God of love, passionate and strong, tender and careful, watch over us and hold us all the days of our life, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. Song Father in heaven, thank you for mothers, loving and caring, all the day long; thank you for mothers, working to feed us, mothers and fathers, loving and strong. Thank you for Mary, blessed among women', she whom you chose to, mother your son; pattern of goodness, trust and obedience, help us to love you, as she has done. Guardian of truth, the Church is our mother: telling of Jesus, agent of grace, filled with his spirit, making us family, joining his people in every place. Parents and children, praise God together, praise for our homes, and all that he gives; may we serve others, as serving Jesus Make every home the place where he lives.
Birthdays What we are thinking about today.. Mothering Sunday: God gives to us We give to God We give to each other We think about the things we have done wrong.. We say sorry: For the times we have been hurtful to others All Lord, we are sorry For the times we have not done what we should All Lord, we are sorry For the times we have done what we shouldn t All Lord, we are sorry Help us to be caring, not selfish All Lord, may this be a new start! Reading (from Romans 12) We say together Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Show one another love. Think of others above yourselves. Always serve the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient when there are troubles,
faithful in prayer. Share with God s people who are in need. Bless those who are bad towards you. Be happy with those who are happy; be along side those who are sad. Live in harmony with one another. This is the Word of the Lord All Thanks be to God The Christ Church Puppet Ministry Group Activity: God gives to us: bless and share bread Song with actions: Wide as the Ocean Wide, wide as the ocean, high as the heavens above; Deep, deep as the deepest sea, is my saviours love. I, so though unworthy, still am a child of his care, For his word teaches me, that his love reaches me everywhere. (X2) Prayers: Dear Lord, we pray For the care of mothers; Thanks be to God For their patience when tested; Thanks be to God For their love when tired; Thanks be to God For their hope when despairing; Thanks be to God For their service without limit; Thanks be to God Dear Lord, we pray For those unable to have children; Comfort them O God For those who have lost children; Comfort them O God
For those experiencing broken relationships; Comfort them O God For those who mourn the loss of their mothers; Comfort them O God For those who find this day difficult; Comfort them O God After further prayers then we say together: Thank you for listening to our prayers dear Lord. Amen. Activity: We give to God Song: (Money will be collected for the church s work) Jesus love is very wonderful (3) O wonderful love! So high, you can t get over it, so low; you can t get under it, so wide, you can t get round it, O wonderful love! (repeat all) The Lord s Prayer All Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done; on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.
