On April 2, 2014 Trey Meynig, Meteorologist, spoke at Our Lady of Victory Catholic School with students studying earth science about weather and TV broadcasting. On April 4, 2014 John Estrada, News Anchor, spoke at Crain Elementary School to students about the importance of news, what it takes to be a News Anchor and how they use technology in the newsroom. On May 2, 2014 John Estrada, News Anchor, spoke at Torres Elementary School to students about journalism and his job duties as a News Anchor and careers in broadcasting. On May 16, 2014 Kate Morton, Assistant Operations Manager, Regina Cantu, Promotions Manager and Mia Talley, Sales Manager, attended the Texas Workforce held at the Community Center. They set up a booth and handed out 70 job applications and talked to applicants about careers in broadcasting. Kate Morton hired 2 part time employees from the job fair on 5/21/14. Saga Broadcasting hired Robert Shelton for a summer news intern from May 28, 2014 through August 14, 2014. He was attending the Stephen F. Austin University majoring in Communications/Broadcasting. On August 27, 2014 Kate Morton, Assistant Operations Manager, Regina University of Houston-Victoria. They handed out job applications and talked to applicants about careers in broadcasting. Job Shadow Day Saga Broadcasting participated in the Job Shadow Day on October 15, 2104. Bailey Bueller, a senior from St. Joseph High School watched the News Anchors prepare the Morning Sunrise Newscast and then asked questions about careers in broadcasting. On November 13, 2014 Kate Morton, Assistant Operations Manager, Regina Texas Workforce Solution. They handed out job applications and talked to applicants about careers in broadcasting. Kate Morton hired a part time employee on November 17, 2014 to work in our technical department.
Notifying The Community Analysis Of Recruitment Sources Training Of Management Personnel On March 4, 2015 Carol Fox, Sales Manager, attended the Texas Association of Broadcasters in cooperation with Texas State University Career Expo. She handed out 82 job applications and talked to applicants about careers in broadcasting. On March 19, 2015 Kate Morton, Assistant Operations Manager, Regina Victoria College Fair. They handed out job applications and talked to applicants about careers in broadcasting. Saga Broadcasting airs job announcements throughout the year to inform and educate members of the public as to employment opportunities in broadcasting and directed all interested viewers to come to the station to fill out job applications. Saga Broadcasting routinely reaches out to organizations to build better relationships and ask if they still want to receive job postings. We added one new EEO contact through a job fair and two through resumes we have received with our EEO outreach. Mike Wall, Business Manager and EEO Officer, routinely discusses with management level personnel in Department Head Meetings about methods of ensuring equal opportunity, outreach activities, procedures for hiring and preventing discrimination.
