Pre-flight planning For one weekend a year the air above Texel Fly-in becomes the busiest airspaces in the Netherlands. Careful reading and correct way to handle according to this NOTAM is essential to maintain a safe and fun Fly-in. Carry a copy of this NOTAM with you, for inflight reference. Check you radio equipment before departure at your home base. If you don t have a radio please contact Texel Airport at +31(0)222 311 267 for approach procedures. Texel Radio can be contacted in English only. Planning your alternate airport If for some reason you cannot land on Texel Airport. You have to have an alternate airport. If you intend to land at EHTX be prepared to of divert to an alternate airport. For example De Kooy(EHKD) or Middenmeer Airport(EHMM, MLA only). Please keep mind, you have to take the ferry to the island Texel. - Public transportation and taxi is available from De Kooy Airport to Texel Airport - No camping is allowed at De Kooy Airport - Flightplan is required when planning to land at De Kooy Airport(EHKD) - For more information see http://www.ais-netherlands.nl > AIS Publications > Intregrated Aeronautical Informartion Package > AD 2 Aerodromes > EHKD Middenmeer Airport(MLA only); http://www.vliegclubwieringermeer.nl > Procedures(only in dutch) VFR Departure from EHTX - Check the latest flight information in the pre-flight corner in the big white tent. - Make sure your aircraft can move easily. If not, ask help to pull your aircraft out. - Before engine start, check PROP CLEAR! - Taxi to the nearest taxiway, follow marshaller instructions. - When ready for immediate departure, report ready for departure. After permission to depart from Texel Radio 119.300 line-up en depart. - Fly runway heading until area s to be avoided are passed. Keep clear of EHR- 4B! - Monitor Texel Radio 119.300 - Keep sharp look out for other aircraft. - When instructed by ATC resume arrival procedures as published in here. Landing Proceed as instructed by ATC. Watch traffic in front of you. Ensure to stay above your minimum speeds while approaching the runway. When you decide to go-around notify ATC immediately. After landing, please vacate the runway as soon as possible. Look for the marshaller. (wearing orange/yellow vests) Show your parking sign to the marshaller and follow the marshaller to the parking/camping spot. Please tie-down your aircraft securely! No tie-downs available When walking to the welcome area in the big tent, watch out for other aircraft and keep clear of runway and taxiways!! We kindly ask all pilots to register in the Welcome corner in the big white tent after landing. Volunteers will help you with your registration and questions you might have. HAVE FUN! Aircraft Parking Separate aircraft parking areas are used at the Texel Fly-in for different types of aircraft. Such as experimental, warbirds, rotorcraft and production aircraft manufactured prior to 1971. Pilots landing at Texel Airport should use a printed sign to designate their intended parking or camping area. The sign should have large dark letter readable from at least 20 meters. It can be handmade or printed from www.texelflyin.nl (no computer signs!). Display the sign clearly against your windshield towards the marshaller. VFR Arrival to EHTX General Information The entry point for the VFR Arrival is at the city of Den Oever. This procedure is used by all VFR aircraft landing at EHTX from Friday 4 September until 6 September. - Airport opening hours are from 09.00 until Uniform Daylight Period. Outside these hours, airport is closed. At the UDP your aircraft should be parked. - Ensure lights are engaged on arrival. - Approach Den Oever maintaining 1.500 feet MSL at 90 knots (or maximum cruise speed). If unable maintain 135 knots at 2000 feet. Be established at these speeds and altitudes prior to Den Oever. - Monitor Texel Radio 119.300 - ATC will be short and precise. Please limit your communications to short and precise information in order not to block the frequency for longer than necessary. - Keep clear of Restricted and Dangerous Airpace east of the Island Texel, permission to cross airspace can be obtained by Dutchmill Info 132.350 During weekend usually not active. - The Control Zone of De Kooy Airport(EHKD) is class C controlled Airspace. Only when permission is granted to enter from De Kooy Tower 120.125, the CTR EHKD can be entered. When crossing CTR EHKD, after crossing report reporting point CHARLIE at 90 knots(or maximum cruise speed) at 1.500 feet MSL. Follow ATC instructions here 4 7

- Den Oever to ALFA If holding is not in progess enter the VFR Arrival Procedure to the northwest. Find an aircraft of similar speed and altitude to follow. - Proceed single file towards reporting point ALFA. - Ensure that you have a minimum of 1 Nm in-trail separation behind the aircraft in front of you. Do not overtake other aircraft. If you have to S-turn to follow an aircraft, break off the procedure. Return to Den Oever. Follow another aircraft of similar speed and altitude. - Report at reporting point ALFA with callsign only! Runway will be assigned Maintain an altitude of 1.500 feet MSL at 90 knots(or maximum cruise speed) Example: A/C; Texel Radio, PH-ABC overhead ALFA ATC; PBC, report ECHO, runway 22 - - When on high speed arrival(2.000ft MSL-135knots) report point HOTEL ALFA with callsign and aircraft type. Reporting point HOTEL ALFA is above point ALFA at 2.000ft MSL Runway will be assigned. Maintain an altitude of 2.000 feet MSL at 135 knots Example: A/C; Texel Radio, D-ABCD, Cirrus SR-22 overhead HO- TEL ALFA ATC; DCD, report BRAVO, runway 04 - - If runway 22 is assigned proceed as instructed by ATC to DELTA and ECHO. - If runway 04 is assigned proceed as instructed by ATC to BRAVO. ATC can deviate from these procedures listen carefully and carry out as instructed. - When reporting a point, report only with callsign and which reporting point your are above.
