Contacless card A contactless smart card is in any pocket-sized card with embedded integrated circuits which can process and store data. This implies that it can receive input which is processed and delivered as an output via radio frequencies. Standard contactless smartcard allows for communications at distances up to 10 cm. Thanks to contactless technology: it is very easy to use such a card, contactless smartcards are more durable than magnetic or chip cards which need physical contact with the reader.
