ACMP Certification Committee Methods for Demonstrating Competency 6 February 2014
CCMP Assessment of Competency ACMP s Certification Committee recommended a two-part assessment through which CCMP applicants will demonstrate their competency. The first part of the assessment utilizes a subjective method to review the candidate s change management initiative experience. The second part of the assessment is an objective, multiple-choice examination.

Purpose of the Portfolio Review For applicants to demonstrate their application of change management concepts / standards in their experience. For applicants to demonstrate how they achieved outcomes within their experience.
Focus of Portfolio Review The focus of change management experience and examination requirements is on what : what they have done and what they know. The focus of portfolio review requirement is on the how : how they used change management concepts in this experience.
Portfolio Review Questions The Certification Committee recommended that a form be constructed through which candidates document a minimum of two change management initiatives, discuss their role in each initiative, and discuss initiative outcomes. The form will be incorporated into the CCMP Application and include three questions.
Portfolio Review Questions 1. Identify the major challenge in successfully implementing the change and/or obtaining the desired outcomes (e.g., obtaining sponsorship, obtaining adoption, overcoming resistance, environment of change saturation). What did you do to address that challenge? Describe the outcome of your efforts. 2. How did you adjust your approach to managing this change in light of past successes and failures? 3. What actions did you take to assure ongoing sustainment of the change?
