Wenzhou-Kean University Anticipated Faculty Positions 2014-2015 Kean, a comprehensive New Jersey state university, is seeking faculty for its extension program in Wenzhou, China. Launched in 2012, the program is offered at a newly opened campus that upon completion will enroll ten thousand students in both undergraduate and graduate programs. For 2014, Wenzhou-Kean University programs will comprise seven baccalaureate majors: English (writing option), Computer Science, Finance, Accounting (with emphasis on international standards and practices), International Business Management, Marketing and Interactive Graphic Design. All instruction is in English for Chinese students of traditional college-entering age (18) who have studied English throughout their primary and secondary education and who have performed well on the Chinese national exam for English-language proficiency. All faculty positions below are full-time, single or multi-year assignments, effective for the fall 2014 or spring 2015 semester, at the ranks specified for each. Tenure-track appointments are available only for the rank of assistant professor. Lecturers teach 30 credits per academic year and provide student and learning support services during the assigned periods. English: Writing and Language Development (Lecturer) To teach extended-hours first-year composition classes along with related supplemental courses in major-specific as well as cross-disciplinary (general education) written and oral academic discourse. Master s degree in English, Comparative Literature, Writing, Rhetoric, Composition Studies, TESL/TEFL or a related field and a minimum of one year of teaching experience at the post-secondary level is Doctorate degree is preferred. Additional qualifications or experience in computer science, finance, accounting or management preferred for faculty teaching supplemental courses focusing on the literature, terminology and professional discourse of those majors. English: Business and Professional Writing (Lecturer) To teach a variety of courses in the Writing Option of the English major and especially to create and teach courses in business and professional writing. Candidates must also be able to teach extended-hours first year composition curriculum and related supplemental courses in majorspecific as well as cross-disciplinary (general education) written and oral academic discourse. Master s degree in Writing, Rhetoric, Composition Studies, English Communications or a related area, with specialization in Business, Professional or Technical Writing and a minimum of one year of teaching experience at the post-secondary level is Doctorate degree is preferred. Political Science (Lecturer) To teach Intro. to Politics, Comparative Politics, International Relations and American Government as part of General Education requirements, with the ability to also teach upper division electives in Political Science. Finance (Assistant Professor) To teach all levels of the finance curriculum, including undergraduate courses for the finance major. In addition to teaching and scholarship, the candidate must have the ability to assist with the development of a program and contribute to the growth and transformation of a new world class business school. Doctorate degree required, preferably from an AACSB or EQUIS accredited institution with a major in finance. ABD considered with completion date by September 1, 2014. Teaching experience is also required, as is a strong interest in and commitment to best practices in international education. Relevant business experience is Business Law (Lecturer) To teach undergraduate courses in business law. In addition to teaching, the candidate must have the ability to assist with the development of a program and contribute to the growth and transformation of a new world class business school. Master s degree in a related field and a minimum of one year of teaching experience at the post-secondary level is Juris Doctor or equivalent is preferred. Strong interest in and commitment to best practices in international education is important and relevant legal experience is a plus. Management (Assistant Professor) To teach all levels of the management curriculum, including undergraduate courses for the management major. In addition to teaching and scholarship, the candidate must have the ability to assist with the development of a program and contribute to the growth and transformation of a EQUIS accredited institution with a major in management. ABD considered with completion date by September 1, 2014. Teaching experience is also required, as is a strong interest in and commitment to best practices in international education. Relevant business experience is Marketing (Assistant Professor) To teach all levels of the marketing curriculum, including undergraduate courses for the marketing major. In addition to teaching and scholarship, the candidate must have the ability to assist with the development of a program and contribute to the growth and transformation of a EQUIS accredited institution with a major in marketing. commitment to best practices in international education. Relevant business experience is Computer Science (Assistant Professor) To teach the full range of undergraduate CS courses (CSO/1/2 in Java). Candidate should demonstrate scholarly capability and an active research agenda in one of several core areas of interest including, but not limited to, analytics; modeling and simulation, particularly financial systems; data mining; and computer architecture.
