Installation Steps 1. Make sure the device to be imaged has Internet connectivity. 2. Insert the GENISIS 2 USB stick into USB port on the device. 3. Power on the machine with the Datto GENISIS 2 USB stick as the primary boot device. After the system s BIOS POST, the Datto logo will appear on the screen as it loads the core system. 4. Once the boot process is finished, read the terms and conditions and click I Agree to continue. 6
5. Once you click Agree, Ready to Image will appear. The Hardware Information of the system is also displayed on this page for reference only. If Datto GENISIS 2 is not able to procure internet connectivity it will display Automated connectivity test failed to run. Simply click the button Test Internet to run this check again and see if the device is capable of finding internet access. If this continues to fail please ensure that the system has a live internet connection with no proxy or firewall filter in place. 6. The next step is to select the Configure Imaging button to proceed to the next step which will configure the system s HDD and RAID configuration. 7
7. The Configure Storage page first displays whether the system meets the Datto SIRIS specifications. At the bottom of the Configure Storage page, select which drive(s) will be the Datto OS drive and the desired RAID level. The RAID levels available are based on the number of HDD(s) found in the System. After making your selection, click Confirm Settings. 8. On the next screen, enter the Conversion Code from your GENISIS 2 Invoice and click Verify. Then, click Begin Imaging. 8
9. After clicking Begin Imaging, the Deletion Warning box will appear on the screen. Enter the requested phrase to confirm that it is understood that the system will be completely erased and upgraded to a Datto SIRIS. 10. The screen will now refresh and will display the Imaging Your Device page which indicates that the imaging process has begun which averages roughly 30 minutes to completion. 11. When the process completes click the Restart the Device button. Your device is now a SIRIS. Unplug the USB drive and allow the system to boot into the Datto OS. 9
