Step 1: Determine how much to save Determining how much to save for your future is a very important decision. It is also important to start saving today so your contributions have the potential to grow over a longer period of time. Below is some information about a few features of your plan to help you decide how much to contribute. For more information about your plan, see the plan features section of this book. Quick fact Only two-thirds of workers say they, or their spouse, have saved any money for retirement. Have you? Source: Employee Benefit Research Institute, 2013 See how different contribution rates can impact your retirement savings Using a $75,000 annual salary, the table below shows what a big difference increasing your contribution amount can have on your account balance over time. The example assumes annual 2% pay increases and a 7% annual rate of return on your investments. Also, take a look at how the cost of waiting one year can affect your retirement savings. Percent of salary contributed Balance after 15 years Balance after 25 years Balance after 35 years 3% $63,592 $170,407 $390,451 6% $127,185 $340,814 $780,902 9% $190,777 $511,222 $1,171,353 Balance if wait 1 year (based on a 6% salary contribution) $115,581 $317,989 $736,001 Examples are for illustration purposes only. Estimates are based on the assumptions noted, do not guarantee or imply a projection of actual results, and do not include the effect of taxes. Wells Fargo cannot guarantee results under any savings or investing program, including a regular investment program, and cannot guarantee that you will meet your retirement savings goal. Take the steps toward a better future today.

Step 2: Choose your investment options It is important that you make investment choices in your retirement plan. If you enroll and don t make any investment selections, your savings will be automatically invested in the age-based Vanguard Target Retirement fund. The following information can help you build an investment strategy for the investment options offered in your retirement plan. Even if you don t know much about investing, it is easy to get started. Keep these key investment concepts in mind as you make your decisions: Diversification: Diversification simply means choosing a variety of investments that represent different asset classes, such as stable value investments, bonds and stock funds. Diversification can help lower risk by capturing the gains of strong performing investments, while offsetting the losses of weaker investments. By investing in different asset classes you seek to balance potential risk. Risk and return: Every investment option offers the potential for gains and the potential for loss. Stable value investments offer little chance that they will lose money, but their potential for gain is limited. On the other end of the spectrum, stock funds have the greatest potential for gain, but they can also decrease significantly in value. The objective is to find the right combination of investments to manage risk and maximize return. Time frame: The longer you have until retirement, the more aggressive you can be. Even if you are uncomfortable with risk but are many years from retirement, you should consider investing more aggressively. Of course, these are just the basics. We have outlined your options for investing, and provided more information for making your investment decisions. Additional fund information is available at the back of this book. Option 1: Choose a simple solution Target date funds A target date fund is a practical, easy-to-understand choice for retirement investing. Each target date fund is diversified across a range of stocks, bonds, and cash equivalents, allocated according to the fund s target date. The target date represents the year you may be considering to begin withdrawing your money. As the target date approaches, the fund slowly becomes more conservative, with less invested in stocks and more in bonds, and cash equivalents. With a target date fund, you won t need to switch from growth-oriented funds to conservative funds over time; the fund automatically shifts its allocation for you. While a target date fund offers a convenient way to invest for retirement, it s important to remember that the principal value of the fund is not guaranteed at any time, including at the target date. If you were born: And you are considering retirement at age 65, consider the: After 01/01/1984 Vanguard Target Retirement 2050 01/01/1979-12/31/1983 Vanguard Target Retirement 2045 01/01/1974-12/31/1978 Vanguard Target Retirement 2040 01/01/1969-12/31/1973 Vanguard Target Retirement 2035 01/01/1964-12/31/1968 Vanguard Target Retirement 2030 01/01/1959-12/31/1963 Vanguard Target Retirement 2025 01/01/1954-12/31/1958 Vanguard Target Retirement 2020 01/01/1949-12/31/1953 Vanguard Target Retirement 2015 01/01/1944-12/31/1948 Vanguard Target Retirement 2010 Before 12/31/1943 Vanguard Target Retirement Income You re done! If you chose one of the target date funds, move on to step 3 to enroll. None of the services provided under target date/age-based investing are intended to constitute investment, financial, tax, or legal advice. The target date/age-based investment options have been selected by the plan sponsor (for example, your employer), plan committee or other plan fiduciary. Neither Wells Fargo Bank, N.A. nor its affiliates, employees, agents, or representatives have provided investment advice or recommendations with respect to the selection of any of the target date/agebased investment options offered in the plan.

Option 2: Do it yourself Individual fund options If you want to build your own portfolio, choose from the funds available in your plan. This requires you to understand your investment goals and to pick the individual fund options that will meet those needs. If you like to manage your investments, and you have the time and the knowledge to do so, this option may be right for you. First, identify what type of investor you are: conservative, moderate, or aggressive. To help you determine your tolerance for risk, check out the Risk Tolerance Quiz on the retirement plan website at www.worldbankretirement.com. On the home page, select the Right Investment link to access the quick interactive quiz and use your results to help you determine how to invest. After taking the quiz, you should also get to know the fund options available in your plan by reviewing the fund information located at the back of this book. Finally choose the percentage you want to invest in each fund. Your choices must add up to 100%. % of investment Asset class Fund name % Stable Value/Money Market Wells Fargo Advantage Heritage Money Market I % Bonds Vanguard Inflation-Protected Secs I % Bonds PIMCO Total Return Instl % Bonds Wells Fargo Advantage International Bond Fund I % Target Date Funds Vanguard Target Retirement Income Inv % Target Date Funds Vanguard Target Retirement 2010 Inv % Target Date Funds Vanguard Target Retirement 2015 Inv % Target Date Funds Vanguard Target Retirement 2020 Inv % Target Date Funds Vanguard Target Retirement 2025 Inv % Target Date Funds Vanguard Target Retirement 2030 Inv % Target Date Funds Vanguard Target Retirement 2035 Inv % Target Date Funds Vanguard Target Retirement 2040 Inv % Target Date Funds Vanguard Target Retirement 2045 Inv % Target Date Funds Vanguard Target Retirement 2050 Inv % Stock Vanguard Institutional Index I % Stock Dreyfus Small Cap Stock Index % Stock T. Stock Vanguard Institutional Index I VINIX Objective: The investment seeks to track the performance of a benchmark index that measures the investment return of large-capitalization stocks. The fund employs an indexing investment approach designed to track the performance of the Standard & Poor's 500 Index, a widely recognized benchmark of U.S. stock market performance that is dominated by the stocks of large U.S. companies. It attempts to replicate the target index by investing all, or substantially all, of its assets in the stocks that make up the index, holding each stock in approximately the same proportion as its weighting in the index. To pursue its goal, the fund invests in a representative sample of stocks included in the S&P SmallCap 600 Index and in futures whose performance is tied to the index. It expects to invest in approximately 500 or more of the stocks in the index. However, at times, the fund may be fully invested in all the stocks that comprise the index. Under these circumstances, it maintains approximately the same weighting for each stock as the index does. The fund is non-diversified. This involves investing substantially all of its assets in all of the stocks in the index in proportion to each stock's weight in the index. The index is constructed by selecting the countries it covers, sorting the market by regions, and targeting a significant portion of them for inclusion in the index. The FTSE All World Developed ex North America Index is a broadly diversified stock market index based on the market capitalization of over 1,200 predominately large companies. Under normal market conditions, it will invest at least 80% of its net assets, plus borrowings for investment purposes, in equity securities of issuers whose principal activities are in a developing market, i.e. are in a developing market or are economically tied to a developing market country. The fund will invest in at least three developing markets. Morningstar calculates portfolio statistics on the short positions in each fund and displays long, short, and net statistics as appropriate. Short positions produce negative exposure to the security that is being shorted. This means that when the security rises in value, the short position will fall in value and vice versa. Individual short positions are displayed with negative percent weights in a complete holdings list, and the short asset allocation for a fund will also be negative. These enhanced statistics allow investors to evaluate the long and short sides of a portfolio separately and to estimate the fund's overall net exposure. Investment performance and operating expenses The table below contains information about the investment options available in your plan. You can see how these investments have performed over time and compare them with an appropriate benchmark for the same time periods. This table also shows: Annual operating expenses (expenses that reduce the rate of return of an investment) Shareholder-type fees (these are in addition to total annual operating expenses) Investment limitations, restrictions, or both You can make changes to your investment options at wellsfargo.com, or you can call the Retirement Service Center at 1-800-728-3123 and speak to a representative Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Eastern Time. In addition to your core retirement plan options, your plan offers a self-directed account that allows you to establish a brokerage account within your retirement plan. This option allows you to purchase certain other investments besides those listed below. To set up a self-directed brokerage account, sign on to your retirement plan s website. The cumulative effect of fees and expenses can substantially reduce the growth of your retirement savings. Visit the Department of Labor s website for an example showing the long-term effect of fees and expenses at http://www.dol.gov/ebsa/ publications/401k_employee.html. Fees and expenses are only one of many factors to consider when you decide to invest in an option. You may also want to think about whether an investment in a particular option, along with your other investments, will help you achieve your financial goals. Give careful consideration to the importance of a balanced and well-diversified portfolio, taking into account all your assets, income, and investments. These fees vary each year based on different factors. Your employer has discretion to pay plan administration expenses from its own assets or from the plan s assets, and may change its decision on how such expenses are paid at any time. Other fees, such as a fee for a new service, may apply. Fees that are charged to the plan, or to your account directly, will be shown on your quarterly statement. Some of the plan s administrative expenses for the preceding quarter may have been paid from the total annual operating expenses of one or more of the plan s designated investment alternatives. Pro Rata: This term refers to the practice of charging a proportion of a fee for a fraction of a unit that the fee applies to. A fee charged for a period of time can be prorated for the actual number of days that the fee applied to in the fee period. A fee charged for a unit (such as a block of shares) can be prorated for the actual number of shares involved. In practice, formulas are sometimes used to approximate or round off the quantities applied to prorated fees. These actual formulas are typically spelled out in the plan documents or prospectus. In the context of an employer-sponsored retirement plan, this term usually refers to the practice of charging fees proportionately across retirement plan participant accounts. In practice, a fee is assessed against a plan participant s account in proportion to the size of his account relative to the size of all other participants accounts in the retirement plan. 1 Fees paid by participants also include any asset or redemption fees noted in the investment performance and operating expenses chart.

The term is used in contrast to your PCRA or brokerage account. 2 Before purchasing or selling any securities in your PCRA, you should talk to Schwab about any fees associated with the purchase or sale of those securities. Depending on the investments selected, certain fees, such as loads or 12b-1 fees, may apply and be charged against your account. Please contact a Schwab PCRA Registered Representative at 1-888-393-7272 for more information about these types of fees, or to view the investment s current prospectus. 3 An investment in a money market fund is not insured or guaranteed by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) or any other government agency. Transfer money by selecting Transfer by Percent or Transfer by Amount. Choose the Plan Information tab from the top navigation and select Plan Resources. Please see the Wells Fargo Retirement Plan Website or contact the Retirement Service Center for more information. If the fund array in your retirement plan includes a stable value fund, please be aware that transferring money directly from a stable value fund to a PCRA may not be permitted due to equity wash rules which restrict transfers to competing (similar) investments, such as the PCRA sweep money market fund. In this case, you will first need to redirect balances from the stable value fund to a different, noncompeting investment in your core account. After 90 days, you can then transfer money from the non-competing investment to your PCRA. There are no restrictions when transferring balances from a non-competing investment in your core account directly to a PCRA. There is no peraccount maximum on this fee. Clients will be notified in advance if any of their holdings are subject to this fee. Non-transferable securities 13 $1 per month, per position Special Service Fees This is a fee Schwab charges to offset fees imposed on us by national securities and self-regulatory organizations or by U.S. option exchanges. The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) assesses transaction fees on national securities exchanges and self-regulatory organizations based on the aggregate dollar amount of sales of certain securities. The SEC recalculates the amount of this fee periodically at least once per year but sometimes more often. National securities exchanges and self-regulatory organizations offset the transaction fees by charging their member brokerdealers such as Schwab, and we, in turn, offset this fee by charging you an Exchange Process Fee for covered sell transactions. U.S. options exchanges charge Schwab and other broker-dealers percontract fees for purchases and sales of exchange-listed options. The exchanges may charge these fees even on transactions executed on other exchanges, which can result in multiple fees being imposed on Schwab for a single transaction. Schwab offsets these fees by charging you a single Exchange Process Fee for each covered transaction. Any Exchange Process Fee that appears on your trade confirmation for a sale of an exchange-listed option will combine the offsets for the fees charged both by the U.S. option exchanges and by the national securities and self-regulatory organizations. This fee includes either fees charged for purchases and sales of certain mutual fund shares or fees charged for purchasing U.S. Treasury obligations via the auction process. The amount of this fee will appear on your trade confirmation. Banks that custody ADRs are permitted to charge ADR holders a fee. Fees collected from Schwab by the Depository Trust Company for an ADR will be automatically deducted from your Schwab account(s) and shown on your account statement(s) as an ADR Pass-Thru Fee. Endnotes 1 Excluding mutual funds, commissionable trades that execute over more than one day will be charged a separate commission for each additional day; each separate commission will apply to the portion of the trade executed on the corresponding additional day. Electronic trade orders for which price or quantity are changed by the client, and as a result execute over multiple trades on the same day, are each charged a separate commission. 2 Up to 999,999 shares can be placed per trade. 3 The Schwab Exchange-Traded Funds (Schwab ETFs ) are distributed by SEI Investments Distribution Co. (SEI). Charles Schwab Investment Management, Inc. (CSIM) serves as the registered investment advisor to Schwab ETFs. CSIM is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Charles Schwab Corporation and an affiliate of Charles Schwab & Co., Inc., none of which is affiliated with SEI. 4 Transactions in foreign ordinary shares incur additional custody, clearing, and settlement expenses. A foreign transaction fee is added to trades placed on the U.S. over-the-counter market through the online or automated phone channels. The commission and foreign transaction fee will be combined and appear as one line item, labeled Commission, on your trade confirmation. 5 Standard fees apply on both transactions when placing simultaneous orders to sell one or more transaction-fee fund(s) and purchase additional transaction-fee fund(s) with the proceeds. 6 For fixed income trades placed through one of Schwab s electronic channels, discounts may apply. 7 Schwab s short-term redemption fee will be charged on the redemption of funds purchased through Schwab s Mutual Fund OneSource service (and certain other funds with no transaction fee) and held for 90 days or less. Schwab reserves the right to exempt some funds from this fee, including certain Schwab Funds, which may charge a separate redemption fee, and funds that accommodate short-term trading. 3

8 An additional amount of $250 per certificate will be charged for foreign securities. 9 Occurs, at Schwab s sole discretion, when no other cash assets or margin credit balances are available in a customer s account to cover transactions such as Schwab One checks, security purchases, Visa debit cards, AIP investments, and electronic funds transfers. 10 Fees for cashiering services do not apply to PCRA account holders, with the exception of nonsufficient funds/returned item fees. 11 Wire transfer fees can be avoided by using certain automated services, such as Schwab MoneyLink, or by using Schwab One checkwriting services. 12 Custody fees for Non-Publicly Traded Securities are billed annually in arrears. Certain Non-Publicly Traded Securities may be exempt from certain fees. Non-Publicly Traded Securities include (list is subject to change and not exhaustive): promissory notes; church bonds; limited partnerships; private limited partnerships; limited liability companies; private common, preferred, and convertible preferred stock; private bonds; private warrants; private placements; and private REITs. State of Israel bonds and church bonds, which are considered non-standard assets, are subject to the $100 transaction fee only. 13 A non-transferable security is a security for which there has been no transfer agent for three years or more.
