1.0 Overview This document applies to the WOS Access S3, version 2.0 release for DataDirect Networks WOS7000, WOS6000, and WOS1600 systems. 2.0 Product Description WOS Access S3 is a private cloud storage hardware and software solution compatible with the Amazon S3 1 web service. It is designed to provide a simple web-service interface that can be used to store and retrieve any amount of data, at any time, from anywhere on the local network or web. The WOS Access S3 is a scalable platform for enterprise customers who wish to transfer huge in-house workloads to provide storage services to internal business units to improve security and lower the cost. The DDN S3 API is compatible with the Amazon Web Service (AWS) REST S3 API, which provide a smooth transition for the S3 applications that can switch from Amazon s public cloud to a S3 private cloud with just a reconfiguration. 2.1 Product Documentation The current release includes: DDN WOS Access S3 Admin Guide This guide is intended for field engineers, QA test engineers, and product administrators. DDN S3-Compatible API Reference Guide This guide is intended for third party developers responsible for using the S3-Compatible API (DDN S3 API) and generating their own applications for their existing businesses.
