Newsletter nr 4/2014 Poland, 9th August 2014 To all Team Managers 8 th European Transplant and Dialysis Sports Championships, 16-23 August 2014, Krakow Prof. Andrzej Chmura & Krystyna Murdzek cordially invite all competitors, team managers and supporters to participate in the 8 th European Transplant and Dialysis Sports Championships which will take place in Krakow, Poland this summer. We hope our event will be an important part of promotion an idea of transplantation in Poland and will bring more transplants in country. See you in Krakow - only 6 days GENERAL INFORMATION FOR 15th and 16th Presentation of the medal. I. Arrival of national teams - 15th, 16th August 2014 1. Championships participants arriving by plane will be picked up by volunteers from Balice Airport (Krakow) on 15 and 16 August. Volunteers will have identification plates with the Championships logo. When the whole team is collected, volunteers will direct them to coaches which that will take them to places of accommodation. 2. Championships participants arriving by train will be picked up by volunteers from the railway station Krakow Główny on 15 and 16 August. Volunteers will have identification plates with the Championships logo. When the whole team is collected, volunteers will direct them to coaches which that will take them to places of accommodation or will lead them to the Polonia or Warszawski hotels (about 200 metres transport by car is not possible). 3. Championships participants arriving by car are requested to arrive directly at the place of accommodation. In the hotels at the reception desks volunteers will provide necessary information. 1

Departure for the Opening Ceremony - 4.30 pm by coach from University Campus, Summer Hostel I, II and Justyna Hotel - departure of teams from car parks No. 1 and 2 Car park No. 1 (Ireland, Germany/ France/ Poland/ Slovakia/ Slovenia/ Czech Republic/ Austria/ United Kingdom/ Norway/ Italy/ Swizerland/ Belgium Car park No. 2 (Hungary/ Spain/ Finland/ Denmark/ Sweden/ Romania /Portugal/ Cyprus The Polonia and Warszawski Hotels walk with volunteers (Greece/ Belgium/ Finland/ Switzerland/. 3. Arrival car park Pod Wawelem 4. Walk to the Main Square 5. Meeting at 5.40 p.m. near Jaszczury Students Club 7. Walk around the Main Square to the stage and taking seats 8. After the Opening Ceremony all the participants walk to the coaches at the car park "Pod Wawelem", led by volunteers. Then they leave for the welcome dinner. IV. WELCOME DINNER 1. Place - The University School of Physical Education in Krakow - green areas the catering tent 2. Departure to the Polonia and Warszawski Hotels at 10 pm and 11 pm. Volunteers assigned to a particular country will direct participants to coaches. V. TEAM MANAGERS MEETING 1. 16th Saturday 2014, 3 pm in International Information Centre (ICC) for those countries that have arrived by then. The others have all the important information above. 2. Collecting souvenirs and starter packs for teams at ICC. 3. Teams arriving later can collect souvenirs and starter packs during the welcome dinner at ICC (about 80 metres from the catering tent) 4. From 17th to 21st August meetings of team managers will take place at ICC at 6 p.m. 5. On 22nd August the meeting of team managers will be held at ICC at 4 p.m. 3
VI.TRANSPORT 1. All the participants registered online will be provided free transport from 16 to 23 August in the 1st and 2nd zone of Kraków by all buses and trams to any place including the airport. They need to have an official Championships ID with them. 2. Transport by coach to sports events will be provided only for to participants who have full and simple registration. We do not provide transport to events for participants accommodated on their own. 3. Team managers accommodated at the Polonia and Warszawski Hotels will be transported to their meetings. VII. Important additional information 1. All the sports facilities for the Championships will be marked on maps distributed on the campus of the University School of Physical Education in Krakow 3. Participants who have simple registration are not picked up from the airport, railway station and bus station 4. On 23rd and 24th August 2014 participants will be delivered to the airport, railway station and bus station. On other days they arrange transportation on their own. 5.
