Presentation The 2nd edition of the Brixen Workshop & Summer School on International Trade and Finance will be held in Bressanone/Brixen from September 12 to September 17, 2011. The 2011 edition will be divided into two parts: the Summer School from the 12 th to the 16 th of September, and an International Forum on September 17. The Summer School will consist of a set of lectures on Recent Developments in International Trade and of presentations of research work or research projects by participants. The International Forum is being planned for September 17, will be devoted to a comprehensive discussion of problems of current interest and should be attended by policy-makers and experts in the field of international trade and finance. The general aims of the Brixen Workshop are: - to provide advanced training in international economics and international political economy for PhD students, postgraduate students and young economists from all countries; - to broaden the horizons of young scholars on the relevance of the economics of international trade and finance for understanding the problems and opportunities associated with current trends in the world economy and with the advancement of global economic integration; - to allow young economists to meet fellows from different countries with a common interest in the theoretical and political problems of the world economy. The Brixen Workshop consists of two sections. On is devoted to lectures focused on advanced topics in the economics of international trade, finance and globalization as well as on presentations of dissertations or research projects by participants. The other consists of an international Forum. The Forum is open to the public and is focused on the most recent events and problems of international trade, finance and globalization as well as on the policies needed for fostering the advancement of economic and financial integration at a continental or worldwide level. The official language of the Brixen Workshop is English. Organizers The Brixen Workshop is organized by Fondazione Manlio Masi, Rome, the Laurea Magistrale in Economia Internazionale and the Master in Commercio Internazionale MASCI, Faculty of Political Science, University of Padova, in collaboration with the Association Amici Università di Padova/Freunde der Universität Padua in Bressanone/Brixen.

Tuition fees and accommodation The Brixen Workshop is partially funded by sponsors and partly by tuition fees. The 2011 tuition fee is 300. The fee will cover registration and full accommodation at the Accademia Cusano/Cusanus Akademie, Piazza Seminario 2, Bressanone/Brixen (http://www.cusanus.bz.it) plus materials and leisure activities. To complete your enrolment you must make a tuition fee payment. You can pay the total amount or at least half tuition fee by bank transfer by July 31, 2009.
