What you need to know Is the RN-BSN option accredited? The BSN and RN-BSN Options in the Division of Nursing at Winston- Salem State University are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). Graduates are awarded a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. How many credit hours are required? One hundred twenty-eight (128) semester hours are required for graduation and a minimum of 30 of those semester hours must be WSSU courses. The 9 nursing courses you take at WSSU will produce 35 semester hours and students usually complete the RN-BSN program in three semesters or one year.
What you need to know Can I take courses at other schools? The sixty (60) general education and nursing pre-requisite semester credit hours must be completed with a C or better and may be taken at WSSU or accredited universities, colleges, and/or community colleges. The courses must be at a C or better. A C minus is not accepted. A list of courses that meet WSSU general education requirements is provided on the orientation site to assist you with selecting courses you ll need to fulfill program requirements. How do I receive my PIN number for course registration? A PIN number is required for registration. You should receive your PIN number on the initial correspondence sent with your RN-BSN admissions information packet. For subsequent semesters you must meet with your advisor to receive your PIN.
If I m in a seated site, will all my courses be offered in a face-to-face format? The majority of your courses will be offered in a face-to-face format. A few courses are only available in an online format so some of your courses will be offered online. If I m in an online cohort, will I need to take face-to-face courses? No, all courses will be offered in an online format Can I change sites? What you need to know You may change sites if space is available. Please contact your Region Coordinator to discuss this option.

There are 7 general education requirements that must be satisfied: Culture and Foreign Language, History, Literature, Mathematics, Natural Science, Social and Behavioral Sciences, and The Fine Arts. Flexibility is provided in meeting general education requirements and it is your responsibilities to make sure you have completed the courses needed to satisfy program requirements.
