Atlantic Foundation & Repair 12º 14º The Articulating Bracket is one of the reasons Atlantic Foundation & Repair's Stabilizor is the best foundation repair system made, the other reason is that it does not bend under pressure.
It s unique. It s patented! The Stabilizor is a unique and exceptionally strong helical piering system designed and manufactured by Atlantic Foundation & Repair of Raleigh, N.C. The Stabilizor features the company s patented articulating bracket, a powerful system that gently lifts and permanently supports settled houses and other structures. It is also an excellent remedy for soil problems and can be used to create a firm foundation for new home construction. By contrast, The Stabilizor lifts a house only when setting it back in place. It is also manufactured using material specifications designed to prevent component failure, including 3 1 2" diameter, structurally rated, steel piers and compression couplings. The Stabilizor is the only helical pier on the market that meets the base pier standards of the Foundation Section of the International Building code. 2 The Stabilizor is engineered to be free of the weaknesses of other foundation systems. For example, systems that use thin shaft anchors or piers are subject to kinking, or buckling, if the weight of the house structure exceeds the capacity of the anchors. Push pier systems which repeatedly lift a structure and use its weight to push piers into the ground can cause walkout and point loading during lifting, leading to additional failures. Walkout occurs when a section that is being lifted moves away from the rest of the structure. No Kinking Kinking often occurs with support systems that use thin shaft anchors or piers. If the weight of the house exceeds the capacity of the anchors, the shaft will buckle, or kink, and fail. It is the system s patented articulating bracket that sets The Stabilizor apart. The bracket is designed to pivot during the lifting and stabilization process. As a result, it remains aligned with the house s foundation preventing damage to the pier, the bracket itself and the foundation. Without this give, the results can be induced foundation failure or bending failure points. No Sinking Push pier systems can also fail if soil conditions change because they use friction to support a structure s weight. If a repair is done when soil is dry and soil conditions change, piers will slip because of the change in friction. No Walkouts Walkout can occur with push pier systems that lift a house and then use its weight to push the pier into the ground a process that can be repeated many times and may cause a section that is being lifted to move away, or walkout, from the rest of the house. The Stabilizor lifts a house only when setting it back in place. No Callbacks! Move on the to next job with confidence Patented Articulating Bracket Manufactured by Atlantic Foundation & Repair
The Stabilizor System The Stabilizor is the strongest standard system in the foundation repair market. The system gently but firmly lifts and supports your home with the best available technology. The Stabilizor system works equally well in all types of soil conditions. This patented system was designed for all types of soil conditions and foundation problems. It was born out of our experience with other types of foundation repair techniques, removing problem areas and providing strength where the other systems failed. The Atlantic Foundation & Repair, LLC design team, consisting of an expert in foundation repair and a registered professional engineer, developed The Stabilizor. Atlantic Foundation & Repair has 29 patents issued by the U.S. Patent Office including The Stabilizor s patented Articulating Bracket. Designed to be the best! A Unique Solution For Unique Applications The Stabilizor works well in wetlands and lakes. There is no requirement for excavation or cement pours because the Stabilizor is designed to handle loads to 28,000 lb. with 10 feet un-braced length. The Stabilizor is an ideal solution for foundation footings in new construction especially in rough or environmentally sensitive terrains. Other systems would require backfill or concrete pours. Allowable load is 38,000 lb. at 6 feet un-braced length and 28,000 lb. at 10 feet un-braced length. 4 Manufactured by Atlantic Foundation & Repair
The Stabilizor supports this sewer line through wetlands with minimum disturbance. The Stabilizor is the answer to chimneys and rock walls that are pulling away from the structure because of their weight. This boathouse was sinking into the lake. The structure had to be lifted off of the foundation and stabilized. Angle iron was placed under the wall and brackets were welded to the angle iron. The brackets were then bolted to the support columns and the Stabilizor was used to raise and stabilize the structure. Sinking Boathouse When construction began on an addition to the First Presbyterian Church, the contractors discovered signs of foundation failure. They worried that the new construction might compound the problem and lead to complete foundation failure. A portion of the structure had leaned forward and rotated. Excavation revealed an additional problem, some of the structure had no foundation at all. Using angle iron and the Stabilizor we were able to secure and stabilize the church. The new construction went forward as planned. The sure thing to correct a foundation failure in a massive brick structure is the Stabilizor because of its strength. 919-855-0855 fax 919-855-0979 toll free 877 PIERS-40 (877 753-7740) www.atlantic-foundation.com 5
What installers say about The Stabilizor Best Stabilizing System Made! Over the years, we ve used several different systems. What impresses me the most about The Stabilizor I never get over being amazed is the power it has to lift without damaging the home. In the past we have had problems with cracking footings. With The Stabilizor we can lift a three-story home with no problem at all. Also, using a machine to screw the piers into the ground eliminates having to use the weight of the house to push the piers into the ground. Customers like that idea; they prefer having something set into the ground before anything touches their house. Andy Beery, Acculevel, Indianapolis, IN The Stabilizor system is probably the strongest helical piering system of its size in the market now. It uses 3-inch (nominal) diameter steel pipe stems compared to the 1-inch by 1-inch square stocks you see with other systems. I like the fact that Atlantic Foundation & Repair has the engineering data to back up their claims. If I get a question about the strength of the system when I m talking to engineers or builders, I just pull out the data. Darrel Maute, Elliott Leveling, Belleville, MI What distinguishes The Stabilizor is the strength of the piling and the stability of the bracket when you re raising the structure. It virtually eliminates any problems due to the bracket s rolling, tilting or coming out of position. The Stabilizor is also very easy to install I d say 30 to 40 percent faster than other systems we ve used. John Hair, Keystone Foundation Repair, Inc., South Central PA 6 Stabilizor. The name says it all. The difference is in the combination of helical piers and the articulating bracket. When piers are installed, I know they will stay in place and not sink later the way other piering systems can. The articulating bracket is definitely an improvement over fixed brackets. I ve never seen a foundation that s square, smooth and level. Because the Stabilizor bracket moves, it can be positioned against the foundation as it should be, providing additional stability. I d say The Stabilizor is the best system we ve found. It does exactly what it s supposed to do. Paul Royer, A-1 Leveling, Goshen, IN Manufactured by Atlantic Foundation & Repair

The co-patent holder, Tom Holland, Sr. P.E. is a registered engineer in the states of North and South Carolina. Mr. Holland is available for free consultation. However, as most installation problems involve Foundation System-Soil- Supported Structure interfaces, there is no substitute for local on site professional engineering assistance. Tension Applications The Stabilizor components can be used in tension applications such as tiebacks or uplift restraints. Although the coupling is designed for installation torque loading, it will also withstand the tension forces of these applications. Load capacities can be predicted as with any earth anchor, dead-man anchor, or helical anchor. When The Stabilizor brackets and pier components are used in tension (hold down) applications, additional nuts must be installed above and below the pier adapter and bracket body ears and the pier adapter field welded or bolted to the pier. In new construction applications where uplift is a concern, pier caps or re-bar hangers need to be specified as drilled with coupling bolt holes or field welded or field drilled and bolted. Custom Components Atlantic Foundation & Repair will manufacture The Stabilizor standard components in custom sizes and other custom components at prices competitive with our standard components.
